Best

My husband is Cuban and we grew up in Tampa, Fl. We frequented Cuban restaurants on a regular basis. We found all of the food to be genuine Cuban food and delicious. From the r...

Being cuban myself, I found a few problems with this restaurant cuisine, for example anyone that have tasted tostones knows that the plantain must be as green as it can gets. well...

Excellent Cuban 8/9/2002

This is the best Cuban food in Atlanta, by far (with the possible exception of the Kool Korners' sandwich). I have visited the other Cuban restaurants in town, most of which are relatively disappointing. Las Palmeras serves simple, flavorful food. The masitas de puerco is my favorite dish...slow roasted pork that is quick-fried and served with a lemon garlic sauce and onions. The pork is tender from the slow-roasting and slightly crispy from the quick trip to the fryer...there is nothing like it anywhere else and it is pork perfected. more

A GREAT LITTLE CUBAN SECRET! 8/4/2002

Las Palmeras is such a great little cuban restaurant. The cuban sandwiches are great, but the veggie plate is killer too. Great atmosphere and staff and the prices aren't bad either. This place is tucked away in a residential neighborhood and is one of the best kept secrets in great Atlanta food. They keep odd hours, so call to be sure they're open. Pros: food, atmosphere, staff Cons: hours more

Little oasis 5/20/2002

Slyly snuggled in one of Midtown's prettier neighborhoods, Las Palmeras is one of those places you almost don't want to tell anyone else about. The intimate indoor and outdoor seating lend a romantic feel, yet the place remains casual. My experiences with the restaurant's well-prepared Cuban cuisine have always been top-notch, and the waiters deliver comfortable service. I think that Las Palmeras now has a liquor license. more
