I love Las Margaritas! It is my favorite place to go and eat. I am a local and I go there all the time. Not only do all my friends go there they do have the best mexican food in town. Just give it a try and you'll see The margaritas, of course, are great. HOME OF THE MONSTER MARGARITAS! Be sure to get tequilas shots . I go up there and visit with my friends eat great food all the time. I enjoy talking with the owners and his friendly staff. It is a good place to take your kids too. Gosh, what more can I say except.......I love Las Margaritas! more

The best place in town 3/10/2012

my parents eat there frequently, and i go there pretty often too. i love the food there. they have spicy dishes or mild dishes, and even vegetarian dishes! the prices are reasonable, and the people are kind and are hard workers. las margaritas is great!! more

Great Margaritas & Music 11/27/2011

I've been a regular at Las Margaritas and have never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the sampler dish because it has a little bit of everything to try in case you can't make up your mind and it's good for 2 to share. The drinks are great at happy hour $4.50 and strong and the service is good even when very busy. Patience and politeness is key, along with common sense. The music is greatly varied and although it can get loud it's not overwhelmingly so. You can still talk, toast and eat merrily. more

horrible manager 8/21/2011

wow, that was shocking! We brought a coupon from restaurant dot com (which we bought online) on Sunday ,and showed it to the manager. he said that's not our coupon, address is wrong, anyway you can not use on weekends"". ""???"" it says excludes Fri. and sat. The name is written correctly on the coupon and the address is in Astoria. well, we never go back this scam restaurant!! more

The Best Mexican Food In Astoria 3/13/2011

Heyyy the best place to eat in Astoria, the best margaritas in town. MY freinds and me like to go to this place for the foof and drinkssss helllooooo happy hour baby the happy hour is the good the margaritas are for $4.50 and the beers $3.50 monday to friday from 4-7pm. Heyyyyyy also in the weekends happy hour the bar only sat and sunday from 6pm to midnight margaritas $4.50. Love this restaurant again GREAT FOOOOD AND GREATTTTT DRIIKS more

Finally a good place to eat in Astoria :) 3/9/2011

Last night my friends and me we went to this restaurant for the first time we had a great time the music is good, the atmosphere is nice they have a fireplace awesome :) We order Tacos d Entrana and Enchilada Suiza the food is very good quality, very good portion the margaritas sooo delicious the passion fruit margaritas love itttt. Dessert we had a tres leches awesome cake :) I really recomment this restaurant more

On Saturday I visit this restaurant las margaritas, I like it so much the food is so good, the margaritas sampler is the best mini appetizer I had. The tequilas a very good selection I had a Patron margarita very good taste. The staff is very good and very attentive. Love this place and can""t wait for the spring because They have sidewalk cafe. more

Dinner with a side of rats 3/4/2010

I use to eat here all the time for lunch. However, I will never eat here again. Never. One night I came here for dinner with a couple girlfriends and the place was fairly empty.. until we had some unexpected company.. as we were joined by two rats. Gross! They were running around the restaurant and when we told our server she didnt even seem to care.. as if they were her regular customers! Pros: good location Cons: furry friends more

Dreadful. 5/26/2008

I'm sooooooooo disappointed. My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant this evening with high hopes. He was really craving mexican --- and I was so horribly disappointed, I wanted to write this review TONIGHT before I forgot. We walked in and were greeted by the hostess pretty quickly ... we sat next to the juke box --- We had our menus for (no joke) 20 minutes before anyone came over. Then - the young woman that did, barely spoke english - (why is she waiting tables?!) Turns out she was the bartender too... We'd both ordered margaritas and we didn't get them until we got our meals. (They were SOOOOOOOOOOO bad, neither of us finished). The food - well, it speaks for itself, gross gross gross. The only thing we got that we liked were the salsa and chips and even at that, we got those WITH our meal too. Seriously!?!? Pros: Salsa/Chips Cons: EVERYTHING. It's awful. more

Astoria's best mexican restaurant 5/21/2007

This use to be a nice mexican spot, but since the new owners took over, it has been getting better and better. Food is great, servers are very friendly, and margaritas are SO very good. The decor can use a lot of help, but once you get to know this place well, you'll get hooked. No mariachis and low prices are just a bonus. Pros: Food, Prices, Parking Cons: Decor more

I love margaritas and this place knows how to make them. We had chips and really good salsa at the bar with our margaritas. We did not eat, went just to drink. Not a wonderful social scene but if you want a margarita with a friend go here! Pros: Obviously the margaritas! Cons: It's kind of a small place. more

wanna have a horrible time go here 9/29/2006

we sit ourselves and a waiter comes over to take our order we then tell him may we have some menus please. mmm This should be a hint huh?we go over menus and decide what we'll be ordering. I asked if chips are set on table & our waiter says no this only comes with main food selections.margaritas arrive & they arent horrible but Ive had better at Applebees. We then notice that everyone else in restaurant is noshing on bowls of chips that their waitress has supplied.SO we have to remind him to give us some We put a $1 in a video jukebox & have to ask the waiter to activate it & find out its really not a video jukebox simply an hyped up jukebox where you can see photos of the album & commercials GREAT! The large group who arrived after us have now recieved their appetizers NOTHING FOR US THO & the SMELL oF DAMP MOP IS NOW SICKENING Our appetizers arrive with the meal so we call for the manger Things we didnt order come & we complain that we had to ask for complimentary chips. I NEVER get a spoon for my soup that night & we're so fed up we ask that they forget what hasn't yet been served.For a soup, salad & 2 margaritas & a kids meal the bill was up to 33$ already TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THIS SMELLY BADLY ORGANIZED ESTABLISHMENT I was going to ask the manager to please comp something but he began to explain to us that everybody makes mistakes & he was being more than accomodating. My mouth hung open when he said we should have communicated to our waiters that there was a problem I was amazed at this.He felt I needed to explain soup needs a spoon & an established worker needs to be reminded appetizers come before the meal or complimentary noshes are given so customers may make their decisions and peruse the menu. MY GOSH PLEASE!! Astoria in my opinion is an incredibly ethnicly diverse place so ignore this one restaurant & enjoy any of the others.Remember for great mexican 1 can always get back on train ito the city more

Amazing! 7/3/2005

I've lived in the neighborhood for over 24 years and never realized what an amazing Mexican restaurant was within walking distance. Highly recommend the Ceviche and the frozen margaritas. The fajita and the seafood soup are also delicious. Do not let the dark windows dissuade you...once you open the door you step in to a fiesta! Great food, good prices, and they are open late (2am) on the weekends. more

A Great Dining Surprise 6/19/2005

My husband, myself and another couple discovered Las Margaritas purely by accident after walking around Astoria Saturday night looking for a place to eat. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food; the ceviche was the best I've had and the other dishes we tried we also wonderful. The mariachi band added a very festive air and we felt transported to Mexico again. The ait staff and bartender were the best. You MUST try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. Get the sangria but try the Margaritas too. OLE!! Pros: Margaritas, Varied menu, Great chips/salsa more

Some of the best Mexican out there! 5/10/2005

After having enchiladas suizas in Mexico City a couple years ago, I was saddened to find that NONE of the Mexican restaurants in New York make anything remotely resembling them...until I went to Las Margaritas! The decor is a little odd (black-light murals of Mexican history??) but the food really is the best I've had since coming back from Mexico--including fancy overpriced Manhattan places. GREAT PLACE 3/8/2004

This place is amazing... It's been in my neighborhood for a couple of years, went there for dinner one night... The best Mexican in Astoria, for a reasonable price. The margueritas were fruity and the mariachi band just added to the already wonderful ambiance... Their brunch is out of this world, too. Im hear to spead the word as to how great this place is... I think it just needs more business. Pros: good service, Inexpensive, not crowded more
