Las Fuentes Mexican Restaurant

Even with the prices slowly increasing over the last few years, Las Fuentes is by far the best Mexican food in the Valley. They have the absolute best guacamole and Carne Asada around. The sister restaurant is Melody's right around the corner. more

I grew up around the corner, so I grew up going to Las Fuentes. What can you say about a place that you watched grow from a tiny hole in the wall to what it is today? The food has always been top-notch. My favorite is the Burrito de Bistek Encebollado. They put chunks of avocado inside their burritos. I also love their nachos and Carne Asada Tacos. I was 19, I rented my first tiny apt in Reseda. About a year later, it was around 1984, this lil Mexican joint opened up down the street. It was small, but you didnt have to wait long!, It was cheap!, and the food was to die for! Imagine! what this 19 year old boy had! I was going there at least twice a week!,, I loved the food! I went there for years!, the lines started getting longer! I was phoneing in my orders now! You couldn't get a seat! The owner bought the space next to him so he could make more room! I still go there to this day now and then. I live about 10 miles away now, but I still make the drive, and forget getting a seat if you want to eat and run! The food is that great! My husband and I have been going to Las Fuentes for years. It is our all time favorite place to eat. We have never, never found any Mexican restaurant that compares. The flavor is incredible and the prices are teriffic! The place is so popular and seating is sometimes hard to find but it's worth the wait! When you arrive have one person immeidately scope out a table while the other orders. By the time your food is ready you will have found a table. Saturdays at about 12 noon is a good time to go. Breakfast crowd is thinning and lunch crowd hasn't arrived yet. Friday nights are busy but if you don't mind then go for it!! The Mexican art is incredible! We remember when the restaraunt was extremely small with hardly any decorations but the food was and is still the best we have ever tasted. In one word ""Flavor"". You can't match it. This place has flavor all over the menu. Stimulate your taste buds at LF. I've been going here for many years and have found the secret to thier success. The owner is very involved in the prep. of the food. It must taste good to him before it goes out to sale. Quality Control! If you are in the mid-SFV, you might want to try LF. The food is very fresh and tasty, the atmosphere is typical fast food, no big deal. Also, it is semi self-serve, so if you want full service, you came to the wrong place. This is the right place for simple down-home Mexican food served up in decent portions at reasonable prices. I feel funny about telling everyone that this is the BEST of all the Mexican fare I've eaten.......at over 9 on your own scale it seems to be well known! For lunch this is an excelent place to get a FULL meal. Not to mention great quality food. Only issue is you have to wait in line .. unless you beat the rush. The whole menu is good ...
