We went to Sunday Brunch a couple weeks ago. I wish we had gone to the IHOP instead. It is a prix fix menu and they charge $30 per person. I got the steak and egg. The steak w...

The ocean view is one of the best.... 11/2/2006

I highly recommend this restaurant. One of Lagunas best spots. Good food, good view, and good times!!! more

Best guacamole, beautiful view 10/29/2006

Some people say this place is only good for the view, but that's got to be because they haven't had the sole. We love the sole so much and we usually don't rave about fish. It is such a great twist on upscale mexican food. The guacamole is so, so good! Great flavor!! more

Outstanding view but average to below average food 10/24/2006

The 2 times I ate at Las Brisas I was so disappointed that I now will only go this place for drinks. Fish was overcooked, service was kind of pushy. I will say that this is probably THE BEST place to watch fireworks on the 4th of July in all of OC. Their location on cliff that juts out just a bit from the coastline affords you views of the firework shows in San Clemente and (I think) Newport Beach. Not to mention your front row view of Laguna's show. Pros: Incredible views and good drinks (bar staff is pretty friendly too) Cons: Quality and preparation of food is underwhelming more

Beautiful views 7/14/2006

This restaurant is quite popular however, having had dined here I would suggest NOT eating your meal here. The ocean views are to die for. This is a place to sit, relax and enjoy the views while having a cocktail. The food is not that great and a little pricey for what you get. \r OH, and maybe the owners could possibly repair the roof of the building that looks like it's been in a hurricane. Looking from the outside this restaurant does not look the way it should considering the views and prices. Pros: Ocean views. Cons: Not very good food. more

So good 7/11/2006

I took an ex-girlfriend here for our 1-year anniversary awhile back and it was phenomenal. The menu consists of a mix between Mexican and Seafood and both are authentically cooked and presented. You should be convinced of my genuineness by the fact that I haven't let my failed relationship ruin this place for me. Go, take a date, take a stroll on the beach, and leave with a great taste. more

Excellent food and views! 12/20/2005

I would disagree with the previous reviews stating the food was marginal. I ordered the enchiladas (one seafood, one cheese), and both were excellent. The guacamole appetizer was also outstanding. This is not your typical ""Mexican"" restaurant, but rather this would be considered more of a ""Mexican steak and seafood"" restaurant with just a couple of your usual Mexican entrees (they serve rolls, rather than the usual tortilla chips, when you sit down). The view (on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean)alone is worth a visit all by itself. Slightly priceier than you would expect. Pros: Great views!, Great food! Cons: Tough parking, Pricey more

it's okay... 11/3/2005

every time i've been to Las Brisas I have not been impressed. I have never been for breakfast, which i have heard is great, but i have been for a sunset cocktail and it just isn't all that grand. The appetizers suck and the drinks are spendy. I'm not too sure about the singles scene either...i have yet to see a hoppin party that i have to run home, get dolled up and run back for.... more

Too Much! 8/28/2005

A $4.00 ice tea (no refills)!!! It was a bit crazy and the food wasn't anything to write home about. I do admit the view is great but otherwise a BIG disappointment! Cons: Crowded more

great view and great value 7/21/2005

i have to say i only really go to las brisas for their breakfast buffet. that and the view are, in my opinion, the two best things about this restaurant. lunch and dinner are alright...but i've had better sea food/mexican food. but their breakfast is just great!!!! too bad it's always way too crowded. good value though. not pricey at all for its location. got good service also. Pros: the view, great breakfast, good value Cons: crowded breakfast more

The brunch is a steal!!! 1/29/2005

I have been here a few times and I have never been disappointed. Sunday brunch is such a great value. It is a four course sit down brunch for a great price. Great food and great environment. more

View and service 1/18/2005

Go for the view and service. Both top rate. Take a friend and impress them with the ocean views atop the bluff overlooking the Pacific. Stroll along the paths after a comfortable dinner. Meals ware well prepared but the fine quality does not match the high price. However, I was not upset over cost after the first class attention we got from our servers. Parking along PCH is very difficult and valet is almost always necessary. Reservations are a must but expect to wait a short while. I have never been impressed with the results of the bar so we drink someplace else. Pros: Impressive, Views Cons: , Location, Price more

Dissappointed 6/28/2004

I was highly dissappointed in Las Brisas- It took our server 15 minutes just to acknowledge us and then another 15 minutes just to get our drinks. All we ordered was an appetizer, which was average. If you dont care about service and dont mind average/below average food and drinks then you would probably like this place-it's got a beautiful view. Pros: View, Patio seating Cons: , average food, below ave. drinks more

Breakfast 5/22/2004

Breakfast at Las Brisas is truly a wonderful experience both for the palate and the eyes. Monday through Saturday a breakfast buffet is offered which includes a made to order omlette bar plus several other mouth watering choices. The view and location can't be beat and all at a very reasonable price! more

Near ocean... 5/15/2004

Have enjoyed dining at Las Brisas on several occasions. Highly recommend their black bean soup which is offered with a variety of additions to suit your personal perferences. The outdoor patio area is lively on summer nights. As to a classification of it being a waterfront restaurant... yes, it is very close to the ocean but there are restaurants in Laguna Beach that have better views and whooshing sounds of waves on the beach. Pros: Near ocean, Near ocean promenade more

Great View 12/20/2003

Although we went there for dinner and it was already dark the view of the lit up hills was very nice during our after dinner walk (There's a park next to the resturant). We had reservations for 6:30 and got there at 6 and had no problem getting a table right away. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was great: I had the La Asada (maybe a little more peppery than I'd like but still very good) and my date had the Pollo Manzana (very tasty). Next time I'll go during the day light hours for a better view of the ocean. Pros: service, view, street parking Cons: noise level more

Excellent Meal 9/22/2003

We were seated promptly and our waitress was very knowledgeable and thorough, and never negligent. The only negative aspect of the experience was that we were served our dinner before we were finished with our entrees- a big no no in my book. The guacamole's presentation as well as taste are worth the ordering. The mango salsa absolutely makes the sea bass ceviche. The award-winning black bean soup is just that, but the real winner was the halibut special. Lightly brushed with pesto, the perfectly cooked and fabulously flakey fish looked like two biscuits atop a bed of jalapeno mashed potatoes (to die for) and surrounded in a brandy lobster bisque sauce accompanied by snap peas, asparagus, and two prawns. Absolutely delicious and definitely worth the price. I will be returning to try more of the fantastically paired dishes created by the brilliant chef. Pros: outsanding service, delicious, unique food pairings more

Worth It! 11/3/2002

This place is great! I've heard that the service is slow, but this was not the case for us at all. Showed up fifteen minutes early for our reservation and were seated promptly, even with the request of a window table. Aside from the generally high noise level from the other patrons, the ambience was great (and you can't beat the great location). The food was some of the best that I have ever had -- go with the chef special! Pros: Great food, Great location Cons: Noise level more

My Favorite Restaurant 10/15/2002

You can't beat the view or the location. The outdoor bar/patio is a great hang-out place. In the dining room, order the calamari entree -- you'll love it! Sunday brunch is also excellent and very reasonably priced. It's a four-course meal and includes champagne and coffee or tea with your dessert. Service can be a bit slow, but the waiters don't rush you through your meal. We spent a good 2-1/2 hours at our table over brunch. There can be a longer than expected wait for reservations, but the food and ambiance make up for the extra time. Pros: View, Outdoor bar/patio, Location Cons: Slow service at times, Some wait for tables more
