My tailpipe had cracked open, and the Honda dealership wanted to replace the muffler and the tailpipe, saying that the 2 parts for my Honda had to be sold/repaired as '""one piece"". It would have cost me around $250. I was referred to Larry's Muffler by ""Only Imports Incorporated"" (which itself was highly recommended by a friend-but they don't do exhaust work). Larry guessed over the phone that it would probably only be my tailpipe that needed to be replaced, informing me that my muffler was stainless steel and was probably still in good condition. \r

After bringing my car in, turns out he was right on both counts, and he was able to replace a section of my tailpipe in less than 20 minutes and for only $40. Yeah, I could hardly believe it myself. He only would have charged me $80 if he'd had to replace the muffler too. It's just a small one-man business operation, not a glamorous franchise--but a very good deal. And the dealerships and Midas charge way too much for this repair--its a simple repair--its not brain surgery!I was so happy I actually tipped an automechanic for the first time ever!
