I highly recommend LG to anyone who hasn't tried it. The setting is relaxed and comfortable, the service friendly and efficient, and the food creative and delicious. I hadn't been there in over a year, and the menu had changed dramatically. I asked, and found out there are new owners and a new chef. All the changes are definitely for the best. They've even added weekend brunch. For starters, I love their cheese plate - you get a generous portion of three cheeses and perfectly toasted bread. Their mac&cheese is rich and creamy. I also recommend the beet salad and the dueling tartares. For main dishes, the trout is outstanding. The fish is light and flaky and the garlic sauce and asparagus is a perfect compliment. On the other end of the food spectrum, I also love the porterhouse, but the portion is big, so you'd better be ready to eat. A friend of mine swears by the rigatoni, but I've never had it myself. And the classic burger is truly a classic. The meat is juicy and delicious and is perfect with some of the Stell Artois they now serve on tap. The wine list has also been given a major overhaul, and the selection is thoughtful and varied, with some great bargains. I also went to brunch this past weekend, and I was surprised by how comprehensive the menu is. I started with a delicious cup of coffee and a complimentary mixed salad and had the chicken hash. The portion was a bit too big, but the hash was moist and tasty and the potatoes crispy and brown. I thought the addition of some yellow bell peppers added just the perfect amount of sweetness to the savory dish. I also had a bellini with just enough peach syrup and a fresh wedge that was light and refreshing. This is one of my new favorite restaurants. It's so rare to find a place that is unpretentious and very moderately priced with great food and a totally relaxed atmosphere. Definitely give it a try - especially if you haven't been there in a while. You'll be very pleasantly surprised.
