Based on the other reviews we tried Laney?s. I was very disappointed. We had flounder and catfish. It was over cooked ? dry. The catfish were very skinny. Also the food was not very warm which helps me understand why it was dry. My guess is it was pre-cooked and kept warm. The key lime pie was another disappointment. The restaurant itself could really use some updating and some character. I don?t mind an old fashioned place but most of those have some character. Not this one. Cons: Read the review more

A real gem 7/1/2007

I've been going to Laney's for my entire life and the food and service has been great for 30 years! I don't think I've ever run out of tea, and you can't beat the homemade onion rings and small catfish. This is one of the best kept secrets of Iredell county. Pros: great food, excellent service Cons: hard to find if you don't know where you're going more

great old fashioned place 8/22/2005

While on vacation in Mooresville I discovered Laney's fish camp by accident. Great old fashioned place, cheap prices, great food and lots of it. I wish we had a Laney's in where I live( Virginia Beach)> I can not wait to go back. more

Old Time Tradition 3/11/2004

great food and different from most other seafood restaurants. They have been around for as long as I can remember and have the best Whole Flounder and hushpuppies and tarter sauce anywhere!!!!!! more
