Awesome Campus Apartment 4/26/2012

Contrary to the other reviews about Landis Properties, I am a very satisfied tenant at the 14th Avenue property. The apartments are very spacious, with a lot of closet space in the bedrooms. The units are very clean with nice large windows. It is also a very short walk to campus! The price is extremely fair. Having many friends that live on campus as well, some people are paying upwards $500 for terrible living conditions. The rent here is great with heat and water included (my apartment is extremely cozy ALL winter, and friends even come over to enjoy it because their apartments cant contain the heat) - I appreciate the online bill payment for added convenience. My electric bill is very fair - I have never had an electric bill for my two-bedroom over $25 each month. I appreciate the off-street parking that is available. They are very good about towing to make sure that there is adequate space for those with passes. There is also a laundry room with extremely cheap wash & drys. There is a locked mailroom which is great when, at other properties, your important mail & packages can be stolen. The management is awesome and so incredibly nice. They are always prepared to assist with any question or maintenance request. They are very accommodating with all issues. The maintenance staff are some of the sweetest individuals (they even offer to take out my full trash can when they are up for a standard repair) and they CLEAN UP after themselves, something that you rarely find. I trust the maintenance staff to enter my apartment when I am not home, something that I have NEVER allowed before. I have lived in an apartment with my family before coming to college (18 years) and with my experience, I am very picky about where I live, the management, and the experience. I have been here for 2 years and it has been a great experience that I would definitely recommend to my friends. This complex is a great value! more

Worst place ever 4/21/2011

Do NOT live here. Management is horrible, and will harass you to no end. You will receive letters weekly saying you owe money and when you call, they realize they made more mistakes. I gave my 45 day notice, and they are still trying to evict me, even though I'm leaving in the first place. The woman who runs Acropolis does not care if other residents are in her office when she wants to discuss private issues that should between you and the landlord. She will air your business to everyone. Its horrifying. The windows and doors are OLD and drafty, be prepared to pay big electric and gas bills. Do NOT even consider this hellhole, you will regret it. I can't leave soon enough!!! more

Good size, cheap apartment 9/15/2010

I have had a few problems while living here, but the Landlord tries his best to make sure both parties are satisfied. The maintenance crew is very fast at making any needed repairs. The apartment is very nice for the price, the only bad thing is there are no dishwashers available. Closets are huge, bedrooms are big, bathroom is big, etc. more

Worst Apartment Ever! 8/10/2010

First of let me say this place is awful! I have lived here a year now after moving in with my boyfriend after he had been here a year. We cant wait to get out in a few weeks. Here is my list of whats wrong with this apartment complex: 1. The air conditioning/heat does not work - During the winter we had to buy electric heaters for our bedrooms and living room. This summer our thermometer has been set to 68 however the apartment has never gotten below 72 and runs constantly. We had to turn our thermometer up just so we wouldnt have another 160 electric bill like we had last month. So in summer dont expect an electric bill under $100 and in the winter dont expect a gas bill of under $150. Even this summer my gas bill was $50 which I have no idea why because we dont even use any gas. 2. Rodents and insects- We have caught over five mice in our apartment since I have been here. They seem to have gone away for the time being but who knows. I have also started recently seeing what I think are cockroaches. I have seen them in the morning in our bathtubs and sinks. 3. Management- I was chased down the street by our neighbors pitbull one morning on my way to class. I was terrified. We called the property manager but nothing was done about this dog, and oh yea the people who owned this dog also had another 90 lb dog. Were not ""allowed"" to have any dogs over 50 lbs according to our lease so my question is how were these people allowed to have 2 90lb dogs let alone one of them a pitbull. Another thing; these dogs would be up all night barking their brains out. They would keep us up all night with their barking. We called the landlord many many times and nothing was done. 4. Parking and Theft- Parking sucks. They have like 8 spaces in the back of the complex that you have to have a permit to park at which is free. but they give one to everyone who moves in and its a free for all. If you dont get a space you more than likely have to park way up 13th ave and believe me you dont want to walk alone down that street at night. My boyfriends car has been broken into while he was parked in the back parking and the management was on ""vacation"" the week it happened so they couldnt look at the security tapes. All in all this place sucks. Yes it is only $500 dollars for a two bedroom decently located to campus but after you pay all your way too high utility bills your going to be paying well over $700 a month for a shitty apartment. It is definitely not worth your time or money. more

Decent for college guys 1/2/2010

I lived there with a roommate for a year during my college. Apartment was relatively clean and in decent condition. A lot of room for the price. Central air was a nice addition. My roommate and I never had any problems but one guy there had his car broken into multiple times (He had a Mustang with a nice sound system). As guys we never really felt like we had any problems but I don't know if it is quite the place woman roommates would like to stay. Pros: Cheap, decent condition, responsive maintenance staff Cons: area isn't the greatest, far from campus more
