My husband and I have been dying to try Robert's for a special occasion, so we decided to go for my 40th birthday. As we walked in, I knew this would be a night to remember. It was a small, warm dining room and we were immediately greeted by someone who showed us to our table. Our menus were personalized with my name and happy birthday. The wine chosen by the manager was delightful and kept coming all night long. The food was out of this world. The things that were served were nothing I would normally order but I ate every last bite and was yearning for more (especially the famous scallop mousse). The music was beautiful. Piano playing throughout the entire evening, and songs by Robert and other amazing vocalists. The entire evening was so special, especially when I was serenaded "Happy Birthday". We saved for so long to try Robert's but we left feeling like we got a great bargain for all that we had. The food, wine, singing, and atmosphere were all so special. I recently visited the famed Robert's of Charleston after much anticipation. I must say that Robert has a wonderful voice and puts on a good show. The small room can provide an intimate or a crowded setting, however, depending on the night you visit (we were at a table next to a group of probably 30 so it was a little too tight for my comfort). Another consideration is your priorities in choosing Robert's. If you simply want to hear a good male voice, this is the spot for you. But if your main interest is in your stomach as opposed to your ear, I would recommend looking into some of the other fine restaurants in the area. The cuisine, in my opinion, is of a higher caliber in other establishments in the area. more
