On March 17, 1968 the Lancaster United Brethren Church was founded. It became an affiliate member of the United Brethren in Christ. The first pastor was Rev. Roger Bishop. From October 27, 1968 to September 30, 1970, East Elementary School served as a worship center. All worship materials, from hymn books to nursery equipment, were piled into the back seat of cars and hauled to and from each service. A great spirit of love, cooperation, and determination prevailed through the whole experience.Nine acres of land was purchased at 1125 Pleasantville Road and the Ground Breaking Service was held March 6, 1969. The Cornerstone Laying Ceremony was on September 28, 1969. When construction began there were numerous projects to defray the cost of equipment and furnishings. From car washes to selling church plates were used to help with the cost of building the church. The first service in the new building was October 4, 1970.A local builder and faithful church member, Raymond Fauble, donated his labor and built a new parsonage on Marietta Road that was completed in April of 1971.AMENITYThere are Many Activities that are Going on for Children and TeensChildren's MinistriesTeen Connections
