No customer service prices are inflated charged me for some wiring harness that they loosened dropping the transmission. For $2700 dollars you would think that they could at least...

No customer service prices are inflated charged me for some wiring harness that they loosened dropping the transmission. For $2700 dollars you would think that they could at least call and give me updates but no only when the car was done and i could'nt pick it up did they call me. If you are military just go across the street to aamco im sure they will get it done cheaper and quicker than lakewood transmission did. And the warranty is only 24 months or 24000 miles what a joke. more

Lakewood Transmission, Bait and Switch trick 1/11/2012

Date today: jan.11, 2012\r I call it bait and switch! A coupon for a $49.95 service special was turned into an extra $100.00 because my car uses mercon v. which is about $2.00 more than the regular tranny fluid. So I asked the guy, Does my car hold 50 gallons of fluid!, of course not! So I asked more questions, He stated at first, that some cars don't have a funnel on top and fluid has to go in from the bottom. In the first place I don't see what $100.00 has to do with that and second of all I told him I do have a funnel up top! he then said oh, thats what I said. He did not, he implied it goes in from the bottom! and that was part of the reason it was more costly. Untimately, he gave me no good reason for over charging me and stated other shops charge much more than that. \r This is why ladies are scared to go to shops!!!!because they are tricked and lied too, most of the time!\r SHAME ON YOU LAKEWOOD TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Great guys 5/13/2011

Went in today, 4-13-2011, on a coupon to have my 1986 Taurus looked at. Was leaking transmission fluid for a while. Just knew I'd have to get it rebuilt. Can't put into words how AWESOME I was treated. Only needed a cooling pump put in. Saved my butt!!!!! I barely know what a wheel is on a car. Scott and Don treated me great. Watched as they treated other customers perfectly and honestly. Watched as they treated the people who worked there. Go there!! I would tell my family to go if they needed trans work done. Overall good experience. 4/13/2010

I decided to use Lakewood Transmission because of the customer reviews about their service that I found when I researched them on the Internet. This was my first experience with Lakewood Transmission, and they did a minor part replacement for me. They were upfront about what the problem could be and what it probably was not. The work they did was fine. My only issue was that they did not get back to me when they said they were going to with an update on the status of the car. Overall, I had a good experience with Lakewood Transmission. more

Great, Fast Customer Service 4/13/2010

Lakewood Transmission has done everything from replacing a transmission in one vehicle to fixing the brakes in another. They are professionals, but also like family in the sense they go above and beyond to help you out. Our home is en route to the home of the owner, so he drove the car to his house for easier pick up. A fast turn-around time and excellent repairs lead me to believe that I wouldn't choose any other repair shop. more

Could not ask for a better experience 4/13/2010

I have used Lakewood Transmission a couple of times with problem cars I purchased in high school. Jim the owner was very helpful and friendly. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem same day or next day without any extra unexplained or confusing charges or fees. I highly recommend Lakewood Transmission and will go back again when I need work done. more

Lakewood Transmission 3/24/2009

A friend recommended Lakewood transmissions to me. She was absolutely correct. They are by far the best place I could have gone. I drove from Bellingham Washington just to get my transmission rebuilt on my 65 mustang. Now i will be taking the 54 Chevy to them and my boss will be taking his 64 Lincoln to them as well. They have great service and are very knowledgeable. They do great work in a timely fashion. more

Just in time 3/22/2009

Friend recommended these guys. Had to leave town to see family. Had 2 days to leave. Told them about it, and they were able to get me in, take care of my truck, and get me out in a day and a half. Great to work with, and reasonable price. Thanks for getting me back on the road! more

Great Work 3/22/2009

Brought my 98 Tacoma in with a slipping tranny. The managers were very nice and discussed with me the estimate and what work would need to be done. They did not try to give me the run around because I was a girl either! The price was fair and the work was great! Would recommend to anyone needing transmission work. more

Great customer service 12/11/2008

I am really happy with the service at Lakewood Transmissions. I brought my 2000 Nissan in after a friend recommended them to me, he said that I could trust their work and he was right, I went there after going into another shop and not being able to get an estimate. I walked in here and the manager was able to give me an estimate for the work. He also explained everything that they were going to need to do to my car, which I found helpful. The price was fair and they got the work done faster than I'd expected. Great price and great service, I would recommend them to friends and family. more

Transmissions 7/16/2008

Had a problem with my Dodge Caravan Transmission, brought it to this company. They charged me $2,400 to fix my transmission. This is an expensive cost, but need to get my van fixed. I think they overcharged me on the work that they did with my van. Still had problems after it was fixed. more
