The Gym is Great. But, Joe the owner repeatedly said things that were demeaning and rude and he doesn't even care. both him and his wife think the way they are doing things is the only way to do it which I didn't appreciate and either did my girlfriend. I only recommend this gym because of the equipment not the owners. more

Great facitility 9/9/2008

I have been a fitness member at Lakeside Fitness and Tanning for almost one year now. What an experience!! They have friendly and helpful staff, knowledgeable trainers who are willing to help you with whatever goal you have and would like to obtain! I just started tanning, and the front desk was very helpful in educating me about lotions and the difference in their beds. They also have tv's on each cardio machine. I can watch whatever I want and for however long I want (I just can't forget my headphones!)! During their ""busy"" time...the other members are friendly enough to let someone else work in and share if you need to. I've had a membership prior at another health club that was 24 hour, and they don't seem to have the same personable experience and help as Lakeside. I love it there, and would recommend it to anyone who needs a place to work out (with no kids...just adults focused on getting a great workout), or who has specific fitness goals. Unethical 6/30/2008

I had a month to month membership and canceled it by email to the owner Joe. A few months later, I realized they were still charging my account. I called immediately, and it took several days for anyone to respond. They said they would do nothing about a refund. They said they didn't get the email because it must have either gone to the SPAM folder, or Joe got it and just ignored it. These are their words. After demanding to speak to someone who believed in customer service, Joe the owner finally called me. He said he would refund a little over 1/2 of the amount. I agreed to this. Joe then said he'd get a check out that day. It didn't happen. I called again, and heard through another employee, it could take up to 30 days now. This was news to me. It's been 6 weeks. I've called to speak to Joe again, and he refuses to return my call, and I assume my money. He was so adamant about his ""wanting to do the right thing"". All I see is someone who is shady and unethical. I'm very disappointed and would not recommend doing business here. He doesn't seem to care how he gets his money...just that he gets it.
