Awesome, Awesome Vet. Dr. Mary E. Mellies-Wijas, DVM, VSMT, CCRT is very knowledgable, cares about the animals, does amazing chiro work and acupuncture treatments and provides great vet care at a reasonable cost. I have been bringing my dog to Lakeland Animal hospital for the last 10 years and before that for other pets (35+ years). I would definitely recommend her to anyone. Dr. Mary E. Mellies-Wijas, really loves the animals she cares for and I have always felt confident that what I was paying for was necessary and appropriately priced. Can't say enough good things about her! Great Vet!! more

Only care about the money 1/6/2011

I brought my dog here 2 years ago because he was limping and I wanted to see if a visit with the chiropractor would be helpful. I was amazed at how my dog walked in limping and walked out fine after a $60.00 appointment with Dr. Mellies. We recently took our dog back to see Dr. Mellies because he was limping again. What a disappointing experience! She wanted to charge us $300 to do a physical before she treated him. We explained that we have a regular vet at another office and were only seeing Dr. Mellies for a chiropractic appointment. She refused to treat him without doing a physical. Even after being told that we couldn't afford a $300 + appointment she insisted that she could not help us. more

Very down to earth people, easy to talk to 4/2/2008

I have owned animals for 15 years and have been to several vets. I love Lakeland because not only are they very reasonable, Dr. Loeding (Dr.Bob) is great. He is so easy to talk to, he doesn't talk down to you like a lot of Dr's do. He spends more than enough time with you and your pet. He makes you feel welcome and treats you and your pet excellent. The last time I was in he spent over 20 minutes just playing with my dog. He also doesn't make you come in for every little thing, if you need medication for you pet and he knows that he will just give it to you. He's not in it for the money that's for sure. His staff is also very helpful and knowledgable. I highly recommend them. more

Great Animal Hospital 2/12/2007

We have been going here since Dr. K. Truckenbrod opened his little practice about 30+ yrs. ago, in a little cottage next door.Not much has changed in the "new" building. Everyone is still loving and caring of all of the animals.I went to a couple of other Vets, only because they were closer to home, but, I always came back here.No one holds a candle to them. All of my dogs, cats, etc., have been given the best treatments possible. They truly are VERY caring and loving people.Thank you for always being there for us. more

A good place to take you furry loved ones 5/20/2006

When I grew up living with mom and dad, we used to take our dogs here. 20 years later, I started taking my own dogs to the same place. The people are friendly, my dogs were treated well and I could always get in same day if needed.\r \r I recently switched vets, not because I was unhappy with the service, but I thought their prices were a little higher than some of the other vets that were closer by. \r \r The service is 5 star, but having 2 dogs can be expensive and with their prices being a bit higher and my switching, I had to rate them a 4 star. more

Kind, Clean and Professional!!! 9/6/2005

This veterinarian's office is one of the best I've ever used for my pets! They are all so kind, techs and Drs alike, and they do not make you wait for hours! they are knowledgeable, thorough and very reasonably priced. I highly reccomend this clinic! PROS: large clean exam rooms, and full staff on duty CONS: call ahead for an appt, but a same day visit is probable more
