We come back every year. One of the best places for tent camping and fishing. A lot of State and National Park Campgrounds close the gates after 10pm, not allowing cars to enter. Because Piru is private, you can leave and come back whenever you wish which is very convenient as Six Flags is only a half hour away. Great lake, good fishing and the staff has been very friendly. We had only one problem once with the boat rental shop (which is not owned or run by Lake Piru) but still the Park tried to accommodate us. A hint for the tent campers, if you are on the sites closer to the lake, make the short trip to the showers by the RV campsite, they are always much cleaner, warmer, and have better water pressure. Overall, one of the less crowded lakes around the area.
Pros: friendly staff, open gates, clean
Cons: Boat rental expensive, no campsites ON lake
