As promised, this comment is an update to my review from last night. First thing this morning I went into Lake Norman Tractor with my 2000K + receipt in hand in order to ascertain what the dealership is willing and able to do for me. The news wasn't good.
Lake Norman Tractor's service department is unable to even look at my lawn mower for at least three weeks. Additionally, the company doesn't provide loaners for customers. Not satisfied with the front desk personnel's customer service response, I pushed to speak directly with a technician. My hope was that my limited experience with working on cars would assist me in getting my lawn mowed. Thankfully, a friendly technician was able to show me how to start my tractor by bypassing the electrical malfunction that still needs to be addressed.
The good news is that I mowed my lawn this morning. The troubling aspect of this dilemma is that I own a very expensive piece of equipment that appears to be flawed. Additionally, I have no faith that my tractor will be fixed in a timely manner if a more serious equipment problem occurs. Considering my tractor is practically brand new, the notion of future malfunctions is not out of the question.
So, thank you Lake Norman Tractor for showing me how to keep my expensive piece of equipment operational when there is a malfunction. However, I (and most rational consumers) expect dealerships to stand behind their products. Especially one that is still new and hasn't had it's first oil change.

I purchased a John Deere 140 riding mower in September of 2012. There are less than 6 service hours on the tractor and it won't start. After calling to see what they can do, I was told that the tractor won't even be looked at for three weeks. I am planning on visiting the store first thing tomorrow in order to see what they can do. I understand if their service department is overloaded. However, I am worried that my tractor may be a lemon. I spent a lot of money on my tractor and want some reassurance. Hopefully, the store will let me use a loaner so I don't get fined by Cornelius code enforcement. If I don't receive an adequate customer service response, I plan to take my complaints to numerous social media channels and to my local media contacts. I truly hope Lake Norman Tractor can redeem themselves. After all, I have been satisfied with my tractor for 5.6 working hours......I just thought I wouldn't have to deal with maintenance and service issues so soon.
