Take a Walk 1/29/2006

Lake Johnson, located off Avent Ferry Road in Raleigh, has excellent walking trails for both the beginner and the advanced exerciser. Bring your pooch, as long as he is on a leash, and bring a poop bag with you. The lake also has soccer fields, a playground for the children, exercise activities throughout the trail and a dock with boats you can rent. more

Awesome trails 9/19/2005

Lake Johnson is a fabulous place to get together with a friend or come by yourself. The lake is beautiful and you can actually rent a boat to take out on the lake as well. The meeting facilities are just great and can acommodate many people. There is a concession stand that is open most of the day. There are even drum circles that meet here and are open to whomever wants to join. I just love my time spent here! more

Nice place for small group functions 7/14/2005

Lake Johnson has picnic areas, a variety of boat rentals, a plethora of trails and fishing spaces. They also have a small concession stand as well as well-kept bathrooms. The nicest thing about Lake Johnson is that there are meeting facilities available for almost any size group. There is a conference room with an attached verandah that rents for a reasonable price and offers a beautiful view of the lake plus privacy. The conference room is air-conditioned and has enough seating for mid-size groups. There is ample seating on the verandah to watch the sunset. more
