Lake Farm Boarding Kennels

I have been taking my pets to Lake Farm Kennels for nearly 20 years. First it was labs, now we have progressed to a pug, a cat and a guinea pig. My dogs have been going there for grooming as well as boarding and I feel confident when I go away that I will come home to a happy (and hopefully exhausted) doggie. \r \r Don't ever assume with the staff at Lake Farm. The owners have been the same family for the majority of the 20 years I have been going there. Just because it's not on the bill doesn't mean it didn't happen. Neglecting to ask says more to me that you didn't want to risk the chance of having to pay extra. It wouldn't surprise me if they just let it slide this one time.\r \r Crazy as my directions may be the staff at Lake Farm follows direction - if you give directions to them. When I leave my guinea pig I bag up a salad for each night (yes he gets a salad every night (sigh)) as well as his food and hay. They have a fridge on premises for pet needs. He gets a salad every day, his hay is kept full as well as his food. When I add a scoop of wet food for the cat as well as dry and the dog's directions everything is taken care of perfectly. \r \r I guess the true proof is when I drop my dog off for grooming or boarding. He doesn't try to take off in the other direction. He goes in, wags at everyone, he likes being there. Dogs don't lie.... Pros: Nice sized play area, staff can be heard talking to the dogs, always pleasant staff, always happy pets Cons: Anything I say here just makes me sound spoiled :) more

We left our dog at this kennel while sightseeing at Martha's Vineyard. We were told that for an extra $5.00 our dog could have a play session once during the day with the attendant. We specifically ordered this as we did not want our dog locked up all day with little exercise or personal interaction. When we picked our dog up the next morning I was very upset to I see that he was not provided his playtime (I assume this as we were not charged the extra $5.00 on our bill, which I really didn't look at until after we'd left the kennel) Pros: Clean, has vet services available Cons: No evening hours for pickup, Pricey at $27.00 per day (supposed to include a playtime with attendant) more
