My wife and I had a chance to sell our lot this year 2012, and went ahead of the buyers, to air out the trailer from the winter. When we passed the guard shack, I got COLD feet. I didn't say anything to my wife, because we agreed, we wouldn't want to drive from Puyallup, after I retired on April 1st. When we arrived at our shack..she looked over to me, and let me know she didn't want to sell. We appreciate the guards watching over the camp site, and clean bath rooms, clean pools for the grand kids, watching kids drive by our place in golf carts...ect, and planned gathering put on by the staff. Im retired, and I don't want the younger generation not to enjoy themselves. Staff your doing a good job..! more

I have yet to find a perfect place and this one has a ways to go before it is close. There are 1500 sites in this complex and the staff is not going to please everyone. And yes there have been some rude employees in the past but they are gone now. The park manager DOES what the board of directors wants since they are elected by us. In the real world, when the boss tells you to do something a certain way you it. The park managers and security DO require you to be out with the campfires. If this was not done there would be people that would just up and leave to go to another site of the store or something else and leave the fire un-attended. This is the woods folks; if it starts to burn, Lake Stevens does not have near enough equipment to stop it. The rule is a pain at times but that is the way it is. That said, there is a lot that this place has going for it. It is nice to have it all set up so if you decide at the last minute on a Friday afternoon to go camping there is nothing to it. Pack some food and a few clothes and head out. Try doing that at one of the state or county parks west of the Cascades in the summer; not happening! This is the 2nd time we have owned a site there. We had one when the kids were small but as they became teenagers ours lives changed a bit and we no longer used it as much. We have friends with smaller children that were wanting to get in so we sold it to them. As soon as the deal was done we regretted doing it but it was done and we moved on. After the kids were grown and gone and I started working from home we started thinking about buying another site. Found and bought one two years ago and have been up there almost every weekend since! If you like to spend time in the woods and just get away from things this is a good option. It is only 13 miles from my house but we are a world away as soon as we drive through the gate. During the summer there are different activities most every weekend for the kids and the adults. There are two heated swimming pools, hiking trails, playgrounds, and three clubhouses plus a lot more. The other comments I think are too harsh for LCP. No place is perfect and yes there are some older folks in the park who want things a certain way and the board is not perfect and neither is the staff. But, we have greatly enjoyed our time in LCP and go out almost every weekend during the summer. The staff have been friendly but agree some take a bit longer to do their work or get back to you. The lake is serene and great for fishing but not swimming. The two pools are great and we use them all the time without any itchy issues. Very clean and tidy place really. If you follow some rules and get along well with others then you should do fine. Pros: Quiet, Relaxing, Great Activities, Close to Home Cons: Some rules, diverse group more

Hi, I have been a member for along time 5+ YEARS. You may want to download the by-laws on a monthly basis as the board likes to change and make up their own rules as they go along. The park manager is worthless as the board tells him what to do and he jumps so he can keep his job. Also, make sure your kids don't look at the security guards wrong or you will get a fine. I have two boys 13 and 17 who ar enothing but ""do gooders"". when the were walking in the park from the restroom one night at 9:45pm, one of the younger security guards stopped and asked them where they were going and it was near the curfew time. when the kids told him it was only 9:45pm his actions changed and threatened to take them back to their parents as though they had sone something wrong...This has happened to several park members i have encountered. They want younger couples to buy into the park but they want to run it like a retirement home where all the old people run the show and get mad at the younger ones....\r oh yeah make sure you are next to your fire at all times. According to security guards and board of directors, they think the park is going to burn down if you go inside your trailer and urinate then come back out...What a joke....\r \r Why don't all the people who want to live in a retirement community sell and move to jubilee the retirement community. If the park wants younger couples to enjoy this place, get rid of the cop want to bees and actually run a park. Put a gate at the entrance to phase three and charge them for extra security. Run down trailer park. staff is rude! if you buy their membership, you will be stuck with it for life. Dues are too high. this park has nothing to offer. the lake as a bacterial infection, the pool causes swimmers itch. Save yourself the headache and keep looking!
