Wonderful! 2/12/2008

My boyfriend took me here to celebrate Valentine's Day (we went a few days early to avoid crowds). He had been here before with friends, and they all thought the food was excellent. Pros: Excellent food, great service Cons: Wallpaper looked a bit dated. more

The food was average, the service was terrible. 3/22/2007

I took my wife here on Valentine's day. It was almost an hour to be served ""they ran out of various items"". Service was poor at best, the waitress seemed like she would much rather be somewhere else. The food was okay, not great. I called the manager to complain, he promised to get right back to me. Three or four calls later there is still no response (a month later). I would never even consider going back. On the upside, the guy parking cars was very nice and did his job well. Pros: Good parking Cons: Average food, poor service and attitude more

Steaks on the Hearth doesnt say enough!! 1/9/2007

Laffrey's Steak On-The-Hearth is great little resturant that has in my opinion the best steaks, seafood & menu. I grill alot, and when you ask for medium steak, you find a medium steak in front of you, never over cook or undercooked (yes, its pink in the middle) I reccomend this to anyone that wants great steak in a Quiet atmosphere. more

Great Food and Friendly Service 2/23/2006

This is one of the best places to enjoy great steaks. You can make your own salad or the waitress will make it for you. A group of friends and I get together once a month for dinner. We rarely go to the same place twice for dinner. However, Laffreys is an exception. When we talk about going for a great steak, that's where we go to. We have been there 3 times in the past year and none of us have been disappointed in the meals or service. The steaks arrive just as you ordered them. If you like grilled onions with your steak, this is the place for you. True it's no Morton's, or Ruth Chris's, it's better. Sinatra Would Love this Place 2/22/2006

Best steaks I have found in over 20 years in the Detroit area. Try the Filet Mignon in particular. Everything else which I or members of my party has ordered in a number of repeat visits has been excellent. Small, clubby atmosphere. Pros: Good Value more

Too cool for school 11/17/2002

What a neat place. It feels like something straight out of Goodfellas. This looks like a place that one would pass on the street without ever thinking of it. However, it is worth the stop. Not like a Morton's or any of the power steakhouses, but a neat, old-style steak place. Give it a whirl. Pros: Interior, Neat bar, Oysters Cons: Salad Bar more
