Editorial review from Citysearch 2/5/2014

This theater is old. I mean, OLD. It really should have some new seats put in. But they have nice incentives for old people and early matinees on weekends. Independent movies I can't find some place - though I'd prefer to go to Arclight. more

A must if you like artsy films and live in the Valley 2/28/2011

I love independent and artsy films and Laemmle always has them. If you get on their e-mail list they'll invite you to free screenings and events. The theatre is old, small, and kind of run down but I think it fits the vibe of the type of movies they show. The have matinee, senior, and student discounts. I always check out the table they have in the lobby to pick up flyers for other movies or other artsy events around town. I've been going here for over 10 years; everyone who works here is very nice and the bathrooms are always clean. more

Great place for Valley art films 1/29/2007

Best popcorn in the Valley and they use real butter. It's a little on the dowdy side, however it's easier than trekking over the hill to some of the other theaters that show artsy films. I can walk to the theater as well (part of my bias probably). Always clean, nice workers and a good selection of films. They do cater a bit to the older crowd (and I'm early 30s so I am a little younger than their demographic) but what does that mean? It means no noisy little kids in the theater. (I am not a mom yet but when I become one, the best pacifier is the toffee my mom used to feed us to keep us quiet in the theater -- parents, take note!) A nice spot for a film. When you're done, go have lunch at the Waffle House ! Pros: great popcorn, great film selection, ample underground parking Cons: could be updated a little bit. more

A Good Place to Visit 2/3/2005

I've been going to this theater before it became an art house and they used to show main stream films. Nowadays it caters to a much older demographic, and people who are looking for films that are not showing everywhere. This place is not about the ambience. It feels more like a whole in the wall. It's not even about the picture and sound which is circa 1990. The largest screen they have feels more like your watching someones televison in their living room. Still, what they lack in technology and architecture they make up for in films and cleanliness. Pros: Clean, Friendly, Concessions Cons: Out of Date, Sound, Picture more
