For years we have driven over from Titusville to find interesting restraunts, typically on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Vietnamese has been our favorite for many years and we are convinced we could eat this cusine serveral times a week. We recently read a pretty good review about Lac Viet and couldn't wait to try it. We typically plan a fun day to Orlando, like a visit to Orlando Science Center or a Shakespeare Festival show and then enjoy lunch or dinner somewhere around town. I first noticed the ambience at Lac Viet Bistro, which is nicer than the other like type restraunts in the area. It would definitely be a good place for entertaining friends or family but is just as good for a wonderful Sunday afternoon lunch. The menu is extensive and it is really hard to decide what to try but it is much eaiser than Anh Hong. The people working there are extremly friendly and helpful, and the wait staff is exceptional. We know a little about vietnamese cuisine but still found that our waiter provided us with insights that we would not have otherwise ventured into and we wound up sampling things we would probably not have tried. There is a stronger Northern Vietnam influence here, so there is a little difference in flavor and probably a greater difference in dishes than in the other local restraunts. Our waiter was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. I requested a menu to take home so I could study it and zero on what I will try next time. This restraunt was a little more expensive than some of the others we have been to, but I believe it is worth it. I did hear two tables ordering ""lemonade"", even witnessed a couple that came in to order take out and only wanted two lemonades, so not sure what that is all about, but will find out next time. Give it a try, it is obvious that the owners here greatly value customer service - good food, good service, good experience!
Pros: Ambience, Exceptional Service, Excellent Food
Cons: On busy Rt. 50
