Stadium of Fire is one of the culminating events that make up America's Freedom Festival which is held each year in Provo, Utah. It is held at the LaVell Edwards Stadium at Brigham Young University. It is usually filled with first rate (in my opinion, at least) entertainment. This year's line up includes Lee Ann Womack, Taylor Hicks, and Keni Thomas. In previous years, they have had Toby Keith, Martina McBride, and Reba McEntire.
They have plenty of patriotic events, as well. One year, the fireworks display was being broadcast to the troops overseas and they allowed families of individuals serving in the military to sit on the field. They shared video messages from the troops. They also had a special surprise for one family. Their son came home and they didn't know about it beforehand, so they were all reunited for the first time in many months right there! It was a very touching moment. Another thing that they do each year, which I love, is that they choose a few people who have met the requirements for citizenship and swear them in.
All of this ends with a spectacular fireworks display. In addition to having aerial displays, they usually have different displays that light up throughout the stadium. It is breathtaking to see.
The price you pay for tickets (usually $20-$40) is money well spent. Tickets can be purchased at www.byutickets.com. If you can't get tickets to the actual event, I would recommend staking out a spot somewhere nearby so you can at least see the fireworks display. I'd also recommend that if you are attending, park a distance away and then walk to the stadium. Otherwise, it will take you several hours to get your car out!
I'd also recommend checking out some of the other events associated with the Freedom Festival including the Balloon Fest, the Children's Parade, Freedom Days (which is like a festival with all kinds of booths), and the Grand Parade. You can find all of the information about the different events on their official website at: http://www.freedomfestival.org/index.asp
