La Traviata

I had a party of 12 for the night which started off on the wrong foot, parking is terrible in the area, upon entering La Traviata and informing them the party was here, they said they had to set-up for us becuase they forgot, so they squeezed us in the one section which made for tight seating, felt the food was way over priced for quailty of food - it is like they are trying to act like a 5 star restaurant and is only a 2 star - I got the Chicken Marsala and found it dry and very little flavor, veggies where cold and the Mashed Potatoes was this little ice cream scoop (3 bites) -everyone agreed that this place was over priced for what it is - service was mediocre, had a problem getting drinks or anything else, could'nt even get my water glass refilled for this they attached a 20% tip - will NEVER GO BACK - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!!! WAY OVERPRICED !!!!!! more

my girlfriend i went there for last years valentines day i thought the place was an excellent choice. it was romantic and the food was excellent. i ordered the salmon and my girlfriend ordered the chicken. We usually share each others meal but not this time. The meals were great and the ambiance was perfect. The lady had a great voice and wasnt too loud or overbearing with her singing. I made reservations a few weeks ahead but they didnt seem to have them. The manager (sorry i forgot your name) made arrangements to have us seated in about 5 minutes. The staff was very knowledgable and the definition of professionalism suits them to a T. RESERVATIONS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DUE TO LIMITED TABLES. Cant wait to go again though. Many meals that have never disappointed. The filet mignon and New York steak are spectacular. Frutti di Mare with Pasta offers a wonderful blend of seafood selections. The calamari is so good you'll not be able to enjoy it elsewhere! The favorite seems to be the Chilean Sea Bass which practically melts in your mouth. The atmosphere is the best in LA - based on the opera La Traviata. It's beautiful, romantic and yet soo unprententious! But then I can only speak from experience - you'll have to give it a spin!
