La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill

I find it strange that my favorite Mexican food place in Tucson is a chain restaurant! I am no stranger to true Mexican cuisine, as I once lived in Mexico for 8 months, and visit there several times a year, eating street tacos and in stalls in the mercados des comidas, the real thing. I have looked and looked for great authentico in Tucson and haven't found it! That said, "La Salsa" is not full on authentico, but it's really REALLY delicioso! They have an interesting menu, and use FRESH, HIGH QUALITY ingredients which they grill upon order. I love their fish and shrimp, which is not the nasty battered greasy kind you find in many places, but fresh when they toss it on the grill, as is the steak, which you can watch them slice up. And, there's the lovely salsa bar, which has many selections, including my favorite MANGO salsa, and vegetables as well, which is definately muy authentico! I think I'll have to drop by there for lunch today! more

La Salsa delivers with tasty Mexican food. Not exactly fast food, but much quicker than sitting down to order. The salsa bar is a favorite of mine with nine or ten different salsas to vary the flavors. Salsa verde, bueno, chipotle, avocado based, and habanero based salsas are just some of the options. The burritos are fully stuffed and 2 people couldn't eat the nachos supreme. I have also ordered catered food from this location and was thoroughly satisfied. more
