Everything we had there was remarkably flavorless, with the exception of the appetizer salsa. My chicken flautas had been overcooked almost to the point of being inedible. The "shredded beef" in my mom's taco salad tasted like canned stew meat. (Not even good canned stew meat.)
Cannot believe this place was packed with people waiting. My reluctant conclusion must be that people who are frightened of any kind of authenticity or seasoning must love this place, or they all came because of the coupon like we did.
Looking at the other reviews, I can only assume that something happened between 2009 and now to make this restaurant terrible. Or that the fans of La Puente are just clueless blandaholics.
There are dozens of superior places to get all kinds of Mexican food. Roll that coupon they sent in your Val-U-Pak mailer and eat it like a twizzler- it'll be more satisfying than your meal at La Puente.
