La Petite Academy has a great reputation, as far as we knew, but once we saw it in person, it was very disappointing. Since no teachers or director was on hand when we arrived, we were given a tour by the bus driver. She showed us where the kids had breakfast and watched TV until the teachers arrived. It seemed like there was a lot of time in the morning where you would be paying someone to let your kids watch Scooby Doo. The floorplan was very open, with only two or three feet walls to divide the different age groups. It seemed like during the day, it would be a very noisy, distracting place for a kid. Their educational expectations were low, teaching kids one number or one letter a week. And the restrooms were shared in the open setting so that a kid might have to wait to go; not an ideal setting for a potty-training toddler. I wasn't really impressed.
