La Petite Academy

My 3 year old granddaughter has been at La Petite for about 14 months. Having read some of the previous reviews I can only agree. The staff is excellent. My granddaughter attended another day care for a few months before she switched. I thought the other center was good until we switched. Her language skills increased immediately. Her anxiety at drop off decreased almost immediately. She is learning and she is happy. Every teacher greets her by name, not just her own. She loves to visit with the director and assistant director. Everyone there makes her feel very loved. I can't say enough positive things. more

Our daughter has attended LPA since she was 12 weeks old. She is now 3. We are very fortunate to have found a very affordable, loving environment for our child. Each teacher knows her well and shows a genuine interest in her well-being. Not only do the teachers know her well, but so do the kids. Many days when we arrive kids that aren't even in her class call her by name. It is a family type of environment. \r LPA also offers extra classes during the day for a small fee ( music,Pom pon, soccer) My daughter has enjoyed some of these very much. We also like many themed days during the month ( wear your favorite color, bring you bike to school, dress like a movie star, water play, etc)\r The site has also received 3 stars during their last 3 evaluations. Please bring your 41/2 year old to Collierville Christian Academy. They do NOT have a waiting list and the structured Pre-K4/5 curriculum to prepare them for Kindergarten is second to none. The teachers are very experienced, many degreed and love teaching the children. There are individual classrooms with a monitored, child-size toilet between each pair of rooms. CCA has been in Collierville for 16 years; it was formerly Totally Kids Learning Center but owned and operated by the same great staff. They also have a terrific Before & After school program and summer camp. more

If my daughter wasn't starting kindergarten in 6 months, and if every daycare in my area didn't have a waiting list a mile long, I would take my daughter out of La Petite IMMEDIATELY! About a year ago, there was an incident where my daughter, who was 3 at the time, was using the restroom. A child from after school care went into the restroom and touched her. I was told that there was a meeting with this child and it's parents, and they were told if it happened again the child would be kicked out of the daycare. They assured me that they would change their bathroom procedures and only let one child in at a time. The way the bathroom is set up also bothers me. There is no designated boys/girls room. They use the same one. There are 3 toilets in it and there are not even dividers! Just 3 tiolets in a row. Everyting was fine for about a year. About 3 weeks ago, I arrived to pick my daughter up.
