I went early friday evening. The food was great i had grilled chicken and rice and blk beans. The green sauce is REALLY hot. lol there was a singer that arrived around 8pm and he transferred the family vibe to a romantic one. I would definitely go back there's so much other things i would love to try. oh the sangria wasn't tasty at all. more

Great, authentic columbian food 3/11/2009

Growing up in Elmhurst I've been exposed to a variety of Columbian restaurants. I've had the best experience at La Pequena Columbia thus far. Nice atmosphere , but the most important thing is obviously taste, and this restaurant is a great example of what Columbian cuisine is supposed to be about. And you'll be lucky to finish the portions in one sitting, which I love!! Pros: Big portions!!! Great Authentic Columbian Flavor!! Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

True traditional colombian food 3/10/2009

""My experience at La Peque?a Colombia was quiet delightful and a wonderful all around experience. I was impressed by the decor of the restaurant. Upon entering, it had this very welcoming vibe to it and the atmosphere was great inside. The waitress and staff were extremely pleasant and patient whilst explaining many of the entrees on the menu which were foreign to me. The food was great and the portions were very large. One entree was definitely good for two servings. I would highly recommend La Peque?a Colombia if your interested in eating in an environment that feels like a 5 star restaurant yet doesn't charge like one!!"" Pros: Large portions, Friendly service, great value! more

strongly recommended- i loved it 3/10/2009

The minute i stepped into the restaraunt, i instantly felt a nice environment. the service was something you won't find in many restaraunts and it was a very hospitable experience right off the bat. if anyone is near the area i would highly recommend this place as the place to go. not only was the service great, but the food was definitely memorable. The thing that stood out to me was that it wasn't your typical kind of restaraunt but something much more. you knew that each plate of food was cooked with a considerable amount of care. once again, this is a restaraunt i really would strongly suggest to anyone who lives in that area or would pass by it. Pros: the food, the service Cons: none that stand out more

THE BEST I""VE SEEN IN QUEENS 3/10/2009

I walked into La Pequena Columbia on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. The food is great, the wait staff incredibly attentive and the food is AMAZING. This is a perfect place to come with friends, family or on a date. We had some drinks before our meal and truly the whole dining experience rivals something at a much more expensive restaurant. I would recommend anyone looking for good spanish food or a high class dining experience. Pros: Great food, service, affordable. Cons: Parking more

Epitome of a BARGAIN 3/9/2009

High class restaurant with a friendly environment, it is sure not to disappoint. The food is exceptionally well-done for a bargain price, and the service was phenomenal. This is definitely a family restaurant, a restaurant you go to on a date, along with many other diverse purposes. What it does best is bring a sense of casualty to an up-scale restaurant. Pros: Environment, Service, the Food Itself Cons: Possibly parking more

Best Colombian Restaruant In Queens 3/9/2009

By far one of the best restaurants I've been to. It was my first time there and I look forward in returning. The way the restaurant was set up was cozy and comfortable. The service was great, our waiter really made us feel like we were at home. The empanadas were simply amazing. One drink that I recommend for anyone that is curious is the Apple Soda. The food was cooked just right and the portions were great. I got the breaded chicken with rice and beans cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Pros: Lots of food, Good Prices, excellent service more

They also serve amazing beef, chicken, and cheese empanadas!!! The restaurant itself looks gorgeous! I recommend anyone who loves spanish food to this restaurant . Prices are very descent as well. Pros: Thumbs Up Cons: Nothing more

Best Colombian & South American Cuisine in Queens 2/22/2009

I've tried other ""Spanish"" cuisine restaurants and in my opinion La Pequena Colombia restaurant outshines all others. Pros: The serve top quality meats. Cons: Parking can be a nuisance but it's worth it. more

Living in Queens, we hear all about the great ethnic restaurants that pepper our borough but many times, we can?t seem to find one when we?re looking. Pros: Great for large groups Cons: Parking is sometimes difficult - discount parking available at 85th Street more

LPC is back and better than ever.......for sure! 6/25/2008

I have been patronizing LPC for 16 years. This place was fabulous and was always our favorite. It has suffered a decline over the past few years. The good news is that we had dinner there last week, and it was fabulous. Just like the good old days and maybe even better. The quality of the food was exceptionally good and very tasty. The new management team is doing extensive remodeling and it appears they are real professionals and are doing all the right things. I am so delighted to see this ressurection of my favorite restaurant, that I could scream. Please......give them another try, I promise you won't be dissappointed. Good luck to LPC! Pros: It's the real deal! more

Surprised!!!! 6/15/2008

I felt like I walked into the wrong restaurant. I have been going there for almost 15 years and the place was on a decline. It seems like the management has changed. Food is amazing and the decor has changed. They were still renovating but was told they would be done by July 4th. Strongly recommend. more

USED to be great 5/13/2007

I've been going to this place for at least 20 of my 29 years and i must sadly say that it's been on the decline for a very long time. born here but spent many years on and off in colombia....this restaurant used to be very authentic and always bustling, sometimes you had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. it's one of the oldest colombian restaurants in the area but maybe they got too comfortable and didn't realize that competition was mounting quickly. back in the 80's you had few choices for colombian food but now there are tons all over this part of queens so everyone had to step up their game and unfortunately LPC fell thru the cracks. take a stroll further down Roosevelt for much better choices. Pros: close to the train Cons: food is very average more

terrible 1/29/2007

THIS SUNDAY I DIDNT KNOW WHERE TO GO AND I DECIDED BECAUSE OF A REVIEW THAT SUGGEST THIS WAS A REALLY GOOD RESTAURANT. I AM COLOMBIAN SO I GUESS I KNOW ABOUT THIS KIND OF FOOD. THE SERVICE WAS REGULAR TO BAD. THE FOOD WAS REALLY BAD WE ORDER MOJARRA FRITA AND CARNE CON CHAMPINONES. THE MOJARRA FRITA WAS DRY, THE PATACONES THAT CAME WITH THAT WERE BURN. THE CARNE CON CHAMPINONES (BEEF) WAS TERRIBLE , IT DIDNT TASTE AT ALL. WE COULDNT FINISH ANYTHING AND THE LITTLE WE ATE WAS BECAUSE WE WERE REALLY HUNGRY. Pros: SPACIOUS Cons: SERVICE, FOOD more

Yummy, yummy, I have skirt steak in my tummy! 8/4/2005

It may look like a diner, but the food at this local restaurant well surpasses its surroundings. Whatever you do, get something that includes the fabulous chorizo...it tastes like none other that I've had. The sangria is tops with just the right amount of fruit. And the skirt steak is the stuff made of dreams...who knew a skirt cut could be so succulent? Great staff, great owner. Nice and roomy for parties! Pros: inexpensive, right near the train, great service more

Bring Friends and Kick Back 7/14/2005

I was in the mood for some hearty Colombian cuisine. We ordered empanadas and a sample dish of picados for appetizers. The empanadas were crispy, nicely spiced and perfect to two to nibble on. The picadoa, however, came on a platter - like one suitable for the Thanksgiving turkey - and this was the SMALL dish. After grazing on the chorizo, potatoes, crispy pork and beef bits, we were rapidly getting stuffed. The rest went home for TV nibbles. We ordered the skirt steak and split it. Melt in your mouth tender and perfectly rare. The large pitcher of tasty sangria washed everything down - not too tart, not too sweet, filled with flavor and fruit. We rolled ourselves home, but not without two orders of flan. Outstanding. Looks like a diner, but tasted like a 4-star restaurant. Also, our waitress was the right amount of conscientious. Pros: Food, Staff, Portions Cons: No parking more

Look no further, this is the best! 12/16/2002

I'm Colombian and I've been to many Colombian restaurant's in my lifetime. Though this is not the one restaurant I go to everytime I want my doze 'bandeja', it is my favorite and the one I enjoy the most. For first timers, I highly recommend 'La Bandeja'. It's huge. It has rice n beans (no surprise there), 2 eggs, sweet plantains, arepa (corn pie), pork and a choice of ground beef or (I recommend) steak. Among my other favorite dishes is the Skirt stake. One word, AWESOME. Pros: Great Food, Inexpensive Cons: No Parking more
