I was looking for a place that would custom-design a perfume for me, and came upon La Maison du Parfum through a friend. I called and made an appointment with the owner and perfumer, Xviara. She was extremely personable and I felt welcome as soon as I met her. Although I was excited to be making my own perfume—there were so many essences to choose from!--, I was thrilled to realize that I was receiving an education too, as Xviara guided me patiently through the process. \r Was I pleased with my first perfume? Yes, and I still like it. And she will tweak your perfume until you’re satisfied. But now that Xviara has broadened my horizons so I can start to appreciate different essences, I realize that my taste is evolving. I sit down with her once a year to make a new perfume, and each represents a different stage of my taste. She can make a simple perfume or a complex one, depending on your preference. I trust her because she has a natural gift and a passion for fragrances, and besides her training and expertise, she likes to travel and look for ideas, which she brings to fruition through her “Privé” collection, each of which is unique. She also has other ready-made perfumes and colognes for both men and women.\r Once in a while I will still explore department store/designer perfumes, but I have given away most of the old ones I bought in the past. NOTE: Once you go to La Maison and experience the perfumes, you will never feel the same way about department-store fragrances again! And if you are serious about making a perfume, be advised that you should not go right after a meal, especially one heavy on garlic or onion, or be chewing strong-smelling gum or breath mints. These can all interfere with your sense of smell, so you don’t get the full effect of each essence.\r I have also gone for a facial there; Frances is wonderful, a warm and gentle person with a calming touch who is very knowledgeable about various products and how you should take care of your skin and face, and I would recommend her highly. I had been looking for a laser treatment facility and was referred by a friend to La Maison De Parfum. Friends are the best points of reference. From the first consultation on I feel like they really cared about my progress and what happens post treatment. This facility went above any expectations I had about laser hair reduction. Frances is a true professional who loves her work and the results speak for themselves. To complement my newfound hair-free skin, Xviara has created the most amazing skin care line that features a caviar cream that works miracles. Your skin will look and feel like a million dollars. Their have a great range of aesthetic services, that I found myself getting my hair cuts here as well. Their customer service is so on point; I really appreciate the phone call reminders! Due to near sightedness which causes me to squint I developed some deep lines on my forehead \r Having recently celebrated a birthday, I like a lot of other baby boomers\r Decided to treat myself to some? maintenance?.\r Botox wasn?t an option as I don?t relish the thought of \r having anything injected into me , so the only option left was laser treatments.\r I had seen La Maison favorably rated so I thought I would give them a try\r And I am so happy I did .\r I was greeted by the owner a lovely woman who took time to tell me of all the procedures offered, and helped me to decide which treatment would bring me my expected results.\r I was then taken to the treatment room where the technician, Frances made me feel very comfortable.\r The treatment itself lasted for about 30 minutes and though the sensation was strange\r I can?t say it was painful as much as it may at times had been uncomfortable. \r When the treatment was over I was amazed at the results . The?11? that appears in the middle of the eyebrows had all but disappeared and as for the deep vertical lines that graced my forehead for so long, they weren?t as deep as they were before , and this was all with just one treatment!!!!\r As the weeks went on the texture and the appearance of my forehead\r Appeared more supple and smoother.\r The atmosphere of the spa, the results of treatment , along with the energy of the staff\r Will see me going back to the Masion \r \r Pros: everything about my experiance was wonderful Cons: there were none more

First I must say I don't live in Chicago. I did visit this spa to have electrolysis for a full Brazillan. That just is something a male can't get in a town of 100,000. I found the spa easily off the subway in a nice neighborhood. When I walked in, it was obvious I was the last client of the day. I was shown a much nicer room than my previous treatments in my home town and we briefly discussed what I wanted. We had already discussed the treatment over the phone. I was asked to disrobe and get on the table. In a few moments, the technician came in. She was tremendous!!!! After she had worked for about five minutes I asked her when she was going to start. Her reply was ""I did five minutes ago."" I was worried about being sore and having ingrowns, which is a problem I have had when I've done this locally. I was assured there wouldn't be. After a month, I had absolutely no problems of any sort. I've also had little regrowth. \r \r I'm looking forward to another trip to Chicago. This time I intend to book at least four hours! The only problem is I'm spoiled by how good La Maison versus my hometown.\r \r more

I've only started trying different spa treatments in mid 2007 thru now at various spas and the fantastic service at this spa has made me a repeat client. I've had one facial, one massage and multiple laser hair removals treatments which are tremendously effective at creating a smooth look and feel.\r \r Besides being genuinely friendly and sensitive the owner,Xviara, ( who did my treatments) was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and thorough making me very pleased with the results. Her reccomendations for the before and after care of the treatment areas were also appreciated and effective. In movie rating vernacular, La Maison Du Parfum gets a very strong two thumbs up. Pros: Thumbs UP on service and ambience. I live 2 blocks away so parking wasnt an issue but it seems that street parking IS available. Cons: No cons as it's perfect for my needs and wants and an enjoyable experience. more

I have received laser treatments , facials, and have had my hair done at the Spa and every time I am completely satisfied ! Oh yes I even have perfume from there as well ....Just lovely !\r I would recommend them to everyone , theres something for everyone male and female . This is a great place and most enjoyable experience. The owner is most knowledgeable and the fragrances are exceptional and you can create your very own. more
