When an alarm goes off in one apartment, it goes off in the entire building. Its a very loud high-pitched annoying sound and can possibly give you a heart attack in the middle of the night. Human's can simply just walk out of their units and away from the noise, but most pets are stuck if their owners aren't home. Over the past few months since I've moved in, the building alarm has gone off at least five(5) times, twice in the middle of the night, on the same night, one at 1AM and the second one at 2AM. Management will not send out any notice/letter or make anything to address the "why" they kept evacuating all of their units for no reason.
Building safety and security, there really isn't any. During their business hours, you can easily walk through the management office to get to the rest of the building, so forget what they say about "fop key" safe and secure building access. Delivery packages are just left on the ground in front of the doors, so that can easily be taken at any time of the day. There's hardly any cameras in or around the building for any form of safety, like they tell you when they're selling you on the building.
The only cameras in the parking area are all on the first floor entrance. There have been a lot of vehicle break-ins in the middle of the night. Shattered car windows can be found on various floors of the parking garage at any given time. It may not happen every weekend, but every few months is pretty often enough. The best management will do is tell you to file a police report and they will blame you for it instead of adding cameras on every parking level.
Parking in the streets isn't any safer, its an easy target for a hit and run. There was a car outside the building that had a letter it asking for eye witness for their hit and run, doubt anyone came forward....
