Both times I have gone with friends we split pizzas. The margarita is wonderful and I like the unique flavor of the lime & avocado pizza. Genius! I am craving the salted chocolate...

Service and Great Food 6/14/2004

What more can you ask for than great service and great food? La Grande has both markets cornered. It is not uncommon for the staff to get to know the customers by name. They greet with a smile although they are often quite busy due to the overwhelming success of this eatery. The pizza is outstanding, as are some of the cookies. Try the ice T too. so you can't drink the beer or the wine....get over it, this is a market after all. Pros: SERVICE, MENU, PIZZA more

La Grande Puanteur 3/29/2004

This 'Orange' has been squeezed beyond its limit. Wine and beer are plentiful but cannot be opened or tasted (no liquor license to serve). The pizza ingredients are fresh but the crust is soggy and the wait is eternal. The intentionally trendy staff resemble extras from Central Perk (on Friends) - diversity in hiring has been sacrificed for predictable redundance. Bathroom sinks are large but the hot water flow is minimal. Nonsensical items such as cheap Circle-K candy, crochet sets, and undersized t-shirts crowd the already minimal space available. Speaking as an East Coast native, here's my advice - for pizza, try Pizza Picasso; for atmosphere, try AZ88; for trendy but diverse staff, try the Pita Jungle; for a trendy bathroom, try Six; for the rest, including wine and sundries, try Sportsmans or AJ's.The Big O tries so hard to be hip, that it overwhelms and overshoots its target. Pros: menu not too pricy, no grotesque people, dessert sylings Cons: , overstated pizza, long wait-small space more

Dazed & Confused 3/28/2004

Waited over an hour for our pizza which was served cold and soggy. (our order must have been misplaced by the ultra-homoginized staff?) "Grocery" list items for sale are rather disconnected: Crochet sets? (just a tad on the pretentious side), beer and wine (which cannot be consumed on the premesis - just spring for the liquor license, already!), and cheap penny candy displayed next to $60- + cakes??? And let us not forget the T-shirts (plannng on becoming a Planet Hollywood?) Overpriced, overstated, over-stylized, and over-marketed, without any of the substance to back it all up with. Pros: location, beer selection, wine selection Cons: , can't drink the beer, can't drink the wine more

LGO aims to please 7/23/2003

La Grande Orange has fantastic pizza, especially the Wednesday special: Blue cheese, Nectarine and Arugula, but everything is good here. The serivce is efficient and friendly. The only downside is seating, there is limited indoor seating. more

La Great! 6/24/2003

This little grocery is so much more than that - from the nice wine selection to the eclectic menu that includes sandwiches, pizza, salads, breakfast and more - all with more than a nod to the fresh herbs and ingredients used to make them. Check out this little store on a weekend for a late breakfast and sit outside enjoying the atmosphere and fresh fare! Pros: Unique, Wide variety Cons: Small, limited seating more
