The chef?s fusion of European and Senegalese provides a twist for her dishes that easily puts to shame the dishes you can get at any self styled ?African Restaurant?.
The food is made to order and never pre-prepared. This might make the food seem like it takes for ever to get to you but it is well worth the wait. Yes the food might take time to come to the table but that is what makes this place authentic--the food is made to order and the food is not pre-made, the fish is fresh, the lamb is fresh which makes the cooking process longer than other restaurants. If you are looking for fast, pre-made food this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for something different, fresh, and full of flavors, then La Galette is the place to eat. The wait is well worth it. La Galette is a breath of fresh air; we have been searching for a place where one can feel like they are getting restaurant quality food that is like homemade.
Top on our list as we have visited La Galette several times would be the
1. DB Narr (Lamb shank)? To die for!
2. Thiebou Yapp (rice mixed with lamb) we get it all the time
3. Goree Tilapia my wife?s favorite
For your drink?get the bisap and mix it with the ginger drink
You feel relaxed and at ease with the ambiance the d?cor provides. You cant go wrong with La Galette.
The staff?is friendly, receptive and eager to please. This is also a strong suite for this small restaurant, that you get to interact with the Chief and even personalize your order.
In addition, La Galette has a great pastry chief so don?t forget to try their desert, especially their almond croissants or any croissants made European style.
Pros: Food is fresh and made to order; exceptional service
