We just went there last night and LOVED it! A friend recommended it a couple weeks ago. We live within walking distance so decided to give it a try. We will definitely go back! The purple corn drink was fabulous and the lomo saltado delish! The best part is that it's in OAKLAND! No need to cross water to get flavorful classic food at a reasonable price! My friend and I decided to try this quaint little place and we loved the low lighting, candles, and great local live band in this cozy little joint. My friend is not the critic that I am, but a few notable things: the waitress takes our appetizer orders and then waits to take the menus away-- 2 times before we order our entree??? My chicken dish was a bit dry and so-so-- nothing to write home about. However, the local charm and friendliness of the owner is really worth coming back. They also serve up your water in these very neat bottles. Another plus-- the desset (our waitress didn't know what we were eating!) but it was a plummy pruney yummy gelatinous thing--very good. Many things were very good about my visit to this restaurant. The food was excellent, waiters friendly, BUT: We were given a menu with lunch prices without being informed about this. It didn't say ""Lunch Menu"" anywhere on it. We didn't realize this until we got the bill and the prices were 50% higher than expected. This really shouldn't happen and put the entire experience in a very negative light. more
