We go there 10 minutes ahead of our reservation and the restaurant was 3/4 empty on a Friday evening yet the hostess said she hesitated to seat us because she "didn't want to rush the server." What???
On to the food. Well, it was just so-so. The tri-color salad was way over-dressed. I suspect it was in order to cover the fact that it was OLD wilted limp salad greens and STALE croutons. Plus, it was pathetically SMALL. The side of veggies that came with the steak and seafood fondue had that old refrigerator smell... you know the one... when you leave something uncovered in a moldy fridge too long? The carrots were actually SLIMY. YUCK. Also, a couple of the pieces of steak were just shy of expired. The shrimp was nice and fresh, though (better be or that mighta done us in).
The service overall was adequate. We had two servers. One of them pretty much forgot to see if we wanted more wine (we did--they lost a sale because it took them too long), and the other was obviously Ms. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde. In other words, very nice at the start and then, as the evening wore on and she realized we were not going to drop a huge chunk of cash on dinner, extremely abrupt to the point of rudeness. It is a game I hate. Oh, and the first server had on obviously dirty pants.
On the plus side, the cheese fondue was very good and they served a nice selection of breads with it. The broth for the meat and seafood was nice, too, but I would stay away from the meat. The wine was fine , and except for forgetting to see if we wanted more, that server did a nice job of being attentive.
All in all, adequate. I would not go back. I definitely got the impression that they are cutting corners with the freshness and are struggling to stay afloat.
Pros: Nice cheese, not rushed
Cons: bad salad, tetchy service, bad veggies
