We were in Ely for the weekend, and ate at La Fiesta two nights in a row. The first night, the food was great and the service was mediocre. The second night, the food was still good, but the service was awful. We only saw our server when he came to take our order, deliver our food, and deliver our bill - otherwise he was nowhere to be seen. When the bill was presented, it was only $38 dollars. My mom thought nothing of it, and handed the server her credit card. When he returned, he said he had made a mistake on the original bill, and ran her card for the correct amount, which ended up being $56 dollars because he "forgot to add in the bar tab". When we proceeded to explain to him that it is illegal to run a credit card for more than what the bill was presented for, he became indignant and argumentative, to the point it was causing a scene in the restaurant. When we asked to see his manager, instead of calmly retreiving his manager, he yelled through the restaurant for him. The manager was very polite and corrected the charges to my mom's credit card. As she was signing the bill, the waiter kept staring at us, making comments, bad mouthing us, etc. My friend confronted the waiter, telling him that his actions were unneccessary, but the server kept mouthing off. Another waitress chimed in and started mouthing, which caused quite the scene - she even suggested we call the police because we were "acting like children"! HA! Such hospitality in Ely, NV!
Today, the charges came through to my mom's credit card. One charge for $38, and one for $56, and NO VOID FOR $56. I would NOT recommend ANYONE give this establishment their business.
