Worst Italian Food! 11/16/2007

I'm not from Utah and thought that this restaurant looked like a cute Italian place. My husband and I visited on a Friday for a night out. Inside, the restaurant had cheap decor and looked more like a diner. I was hoping that the food would make up for that...nope! The food was even worse--the tomato sauce tasted like chef boyardee, and the alfredo sauce was thick and flavorless. I definitely did not finish the food nor take a box home (which is quite unusual for me!). I was sad I hadn't just gone to Fazoli's--the food would have tasted better! Pros: Looks good from the outside Cons: ambience, food more

Amazing! 6/12/2007

This Mother and Daughter owned restaurant is a gem. Placed in an old brick walled building, with posters of Italy placed all over the walls, this is a very inviting and homelike place. And the food is no different, it tastes like it's been made just for you in someone's home. In my opinion, the best nights for go are Friday and Saturday when you can order the Tortellini ala pana. Cheese-stuffed tortellini smothered in a creamy white cheese sauce with little bits of ham. It is heaven, even when I am stuffed full I cannot stop eating! The service is great most of the time, there have been a few nights when we have been desappointed, but the food more than makes up for it. Parking can be tricky, since they share the lot with other establishments on 25th st, and it can be extremely busy on the weekends, so sometimes we just get take-out. Pros: Authentic food, great atmosphere. Cons: Parking, busy weekends. more

Olive Garden can kiss their butt!! 2/8/2007

This is the best Italian food in all of Utah. It was just like being back at home. we stopped in on a friday night, and the place was packed, which is always a good sign in my book. We put our name on the list, and got seated right after. When we sat down the atmostsphere was very inviting. The wait staff was right on time and at our every need. When we ordered, the salad and drinks were very quick and tasteful. When the food arrived it smelt and tasted like heaven. We have found our favorite place to eat wheather it's on a date or with a big group of family and friends. Pros: Great service, fresh food Cons: Busy weekends, parking more

Chef Boyardee Does it Better 1/21/2007

This place was recommended by a friend so we thought we were pretty safe. However, the food tasted like it was served out of a can. One of our meals came with processed cheese on a slab of unidentfiable meat. My wife lived in Italy for awhile, so she was expecting some authentic cooking from a native of Napoli, but was dissapointed to find that it tasted nothing like home cooking.\r \r The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. Our meals were a little slow, but they claim food is prepared at the time of order. Also, the meals are a litte overpriced! more

The worst Italian food I have ever had 1/5/2007

I brought my parents to this restaurant while they were in town (based on reviews found on the Internet), and was embarrassed as a result. The ambiance is similar to that of a cheap cafe (plastic tablecloths and all), and the food was the worst Italian I've had yet (and I am of Italian descent, so I've had a lot). The dinner salad consisted of week-old packaged iceberg lettuce mix, the lasagna could have been mistaken for Stouffers, the marinara sauce was flavorless and uninteresting, and the chicken parmesan was as tough as rubber, yet disgustingly greasy. The food was so bad that we decided to leave mid-meal and go somewhere else for dinner. more

Authentic Italian 6/24/2005

I was very impressed with the italian food of this restaurant. It felt like a piece of Italy. If you want quality, inexpensive italian food, this is definitely the place. more

Just Like New York 8/19/2003

If you have ever dinned at a back street eatery in one of the larger cities, than you will appreciate the ambiance of LA Ferrovia. I would suggest dinning outside if the weather permits. It is a great place to eat and enjoy a little bit of Italia. Pros: Menu, Pricing, Parking Cons: Gets Crowded, Menu more
