OK, I'm not the type to eat shellfish, but La Costa has the best Mexican food I've found in town. The fish fillet, sauteed in jalapeno butter, and served with simple pot beans and piping hot corn tortillas, is a slice of heaven. La Costa staff will keep the warm, delicate tortilla chips supplied at your table for dipping in their wonderful, zesty tomato salsa. I don't know what the secret is, but I can't for the life of me recreate this salsa flavor at home. Other excellent dishes include veggie fajitas, enchilada suizas, the tacos de pescado, and chile colorado. The atmosphere is of a cozy beachside tienda in the gulf of Mexico, and is always bustling with activity, because people know about the consistently great food.
