I had the burrito here and it was very salty, so salty that I couldn't finish it and I was drowning out the salt with my cherry coke. The ambience was very nice, the service good...

Delicious food! 10/2/2009

I go there with my family all the time and love this place. They have great food along with the free chips and salsa. If you go between 3-6pm there is also an extended salsa/dip/appetizer bar. Along with the happy hour and daily specials this place just rocks. Just enough TVs placed in the restaurant so everyone can see them, but not too much where they are just everywhere. Pros: Amazing food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, happy hour more

The worst Mexican food I have ever attempted to eat. Period. 12/3/2008

My boyfriend, sister, and my 2 nieces stopped by La Casita last night for dinner... my sister and I used to live in Col. Hgts and remember loving this restaurant... we'd even request to go there for b-day dinners. Needless to say, we haven't been there in quite a while (probably 6+ years), but still figured that the food would be great. My chimichanga (which must be spanish for ""deep fried goodness"") wasn't even deep fried! My boyfriend had some type of pork and green chili burrito, which looked and tasted horrible (tiny little pieces of pork and lettuce that looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for days), and my sister had another burrito that she said was just packed full of lettuce and a big gross blob of cheese in the middle. All entrees were barely tasted and sent back... and then the 3 of us proceeded to nibble on the kids meals that my nieces had ordered (which were actually pretty tasty). The manager/waiter were very friendly and offered to bring us something else, but we weren't up for trying anything else on the menu; the waiter even told us that the chimichangas always look like that, and if it were up to him, he wouldn't have ordered any of the 3 menus we decided to try. Super disappointing... I will never go to La Casita ever again. We ended up getting drive-through burgers after we left. What a crappy experience. The only plus were the free chips and salsa. Pros: Free chips & salsa Cons: The only thing you're going to want to eat is the free chips & salsa more

Fresh and Yummy! 10/7/2008

Fresh tasting with great flavors! Big portions! We shared the ""special"" Chimichanga Grande with three people and were all satisfied. Loved the appetizer chicken quesadilla-enough for a table of four adults. The salsa and chips were a yummy beginning to our meal. Very pleased. Waiter a little scatter brained, but very polite and accommodating-even chatted with our two year old. My mother-in-law didn't like the iced tea, but it could have been her personal taste. The waiter replaced her drink for free. This is our new favorite Mexican place! Pros: Fresh tasting ingredients, friendly staff, conviently located off of 694 Cons: tables and chairs look a little dated-not a biggie more

Best Mexican Food in Minnesota 5/25/2008

My husband and I moved here seven months ago from Southern California where GREAT mexican food was on every corner. Since our move, we have tried different ""mexican"" restaurants all over this state. This is by far the best we have encountered. The staff was super friendly, our chip basket was full at all times as was our salsa and our sodas. We will definitely be back soon!!! Pros: Food was great, wait staff was friendly and quick, price was right!!! Cons: Almost 30 miles from home for us!! more

Lots of fun 3/19/2006

Everything about La Casitas is great. The proportions were huge, couldn't finish it all. Yes, the rice wasn't the best but still good. Plenty of seating and great atmosphere. Pros: location, parking , staff more

ok food, but not a lot of choices in this area 9/26/2005

I've had enchiladas, fajitas, & tacos; all were just ok. Margaritas are great, though. Average service & ambiance, but there just isn't much else around this area unless you like middle eastern food. I go there a lot just because there's nothing else to choose from. My favorite thing at other Mexican places is the rice, but here it has been microwaved to a crisp and inedible every single time, so that is a huge disappointment. I don't know why they even bother putting on the plates, it's so disgusting. And the smoking bothers me a lot; I really wish it was non-smoking like Mpls. Pros: best choice in area, margaritas Cons: just ok food, burnt rice, smoking more

Ella Casa Es Su Casa 8/20/2005

Love this place! Been coming here since they opened in 1989. Great Food, and great people. Tuesdays half price Margaritas. Came here once a week until they opened a new location in ROSEVILLE, It Is beautiful. Completely renovated, modern yet rustic. Great for watching sports games as well. They have 10 HIGH DEFINITION Big screen T.V.s. Thats where I'll be for VIKINGS games. Great late night happy hour. Pros: Good Food, Good People, Non Smoking more

Best Mexican Food Hands Down.... 11/3/2003

Being from the southwest, I have had mexican food from many different restraunts. I was unable to find anything worth eating in Minnesota, until I visted La Casita. This place has excellent food. Some of the dishes arent authentic, but they are very good tasting. I will never go back to Boca Chica or any other Mexican establishment in Minnesota, but this one. P.S. Tuesday Night Cheap Margaritas and **""FREE CHIPS AND SALSA""** Pros: Food / Price, Parking, Wait Staff more

Yummy! 10/30/2003

Good drinks, good food, GREAT service...cute men and women who seem to enjoy there jobs and always seem to be at the table right when you need them! Pros: Excellent Service, Good Food, Free Chips/Salsa Cons: Mullett sightings, Weird parking lot more

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. The service is fast and the food is wonderful. Definitely the best cheese enchiladas I've ever had and the veggie quesadillas are to die for! Pros: delicious food, inexpensive, fast service more

Highly recommended 7/6/2003

My husband and I have enjoyed La Casita for quite awhile. The food, the drinks, the ambience. Visitors from out-of-town have even raved. Also a great place to meet for drinks after work, as La Casita is a favorite of those I work with also. Pros: Good food, Fast, courteous servi, Never have to wait more

Very salty 6/18/2003

I had the burrito here and it was very salty, so salty that I couldn't finish it and I was drowning out the salt with my cherry coke. The ambience was very nice, the service good, but if I ever go back I think I'll order something else...and here I thought a burrito would be a safe bet. more
