WHEN I GO INTO LA CASA IT TAKES ME BACK TO MY MOTHER'S KITCHEN THE SMELL OF HOMEMADE MEXICAN FOOD . THE GREEN CHILE,BEANS AND OH YES LET US NOT FORGET THE CHICHAS YUM!!! Don't be fooled by the good reviews. This is one of the worst mexican restaurants in the state of CO. Service & Food some of the worst I've ever had. For starters salsa is not very good, but they treat the chips & salsa like it's ""gold"" - Ist (very small) serving is free, if you want more chips and salsa expect to pay more. I don't think I've ever been to a mexican restaurant that charges extra for more chips & salsa. The waiter we had seemed to be bothered by us or was having a bad day or something, but seemed more concerned with talking to co-workers and the cashier instead of taking care of the customer. Within the last 5 or so years I would have to say it's really gone down hill, new management? or old management just doesn't care anymore? Either way - Do your stomach and wallet a favor. I'd skip this one if I was you. more

We have been to this restaurant a total of two times now, our first being a couple weekends back because we were in Commerce City for a performance at the local high school. We had a fabulous time. The music players came right up to our table and played a great child-oriented song for our kids with farm animal sounds! It was great. Then our waitress was also great! She was attentive and even though she seemed very busy (the place was packed) she still was polite and walked us through the menu. But the part that made the night unbelieveable was watching out waitress with another table. She helped an elderly lady from her chair to her walker and helped put on her sweater. Young people dont behave like that anymore. So we will be back again and again and hopefully we get Pamela everytime! more

Our family celebrates many occasions at La Casa due to great menu, friendly atmosphere. The Atencio family is a cornerstone of our community, with Gilly at the helm to greet-meet-serve those in need not only at the La Casa, but at the retirement homes, visiting folks in the hospital, planting flowers in his special memorial garden and even a vegetable garden for all to share-he is always on his phone making a friendly call to raise the spirit and soul. My family and I have been going to La Casa Del Rey for 16 years. When my sister and her family come to vist form Whyoming she always wants to go there for dinner. The staff are always friendly and take care of all are dinning needs. I have always spread the word about this restaurant. Come one come all. La Casa Del Rey is the best mexican restaurant around! I love the service and especially now that they have a new server! He is awesome! He's jokeful with everyone around him and he makes you feel welcome while enjoying great food!!!! If you haven't tried La Casa then your missing out BIG TIME!! Pros: Food more

As a 20 plus year customer, I am sad to say i will not be returning to La Casa Del Rey. I was extremely disappointed by the service i had on sunday. i went in to enjoy a meal with a first time customer, and waqs treated like i didn't exsist. A new server, Travis, was rude, lazy, and snotty!!!!! He made us wait 15 min. before taking our order, (he stood talking to his co-workers most of the time). After taking our order he disappeared until our food came out, and rudely slammed onto table. Once again no sign of him at all, i had to ask the busser to get ticket for me. After all this i paid, left a tip and hear him tell a co-worker ""thats all they left me!"" I find this unprofessional, and very disappointing from a restaurant that has been around as long as it has, but i guess I'll have to go pay for good service at El Jardin, at least i get what i pay for there!!!!! let me start off by saying that i've been a long time customer, and love it here, but my last 2 trips have been sub-par! i noticed that they have moved up a long time busser to a waitor, which i thought was great until i was waited on by him. he was rude not only to my family and me, but to his busser. very demanding, and no courtesy what so ever. the next time in, luckily we weren't in his area but was able to see and hear him. again he was rude and lazy, doing as little as possaible, expecting his busser to do it all (his busser served the food, not him). but the thing that bothers me the most is the way he treats people in general, he has no people skills. i hope that other customers don't have to deal with him and as far as i'm concerned the next time i'm in and he's there i will not be eating there!!!!!! La Casa Del Rey is a great family/friend restaurant serving customers for many years now. La Casa serves great authentic Mexican food and a variety of spices to choose from for the whole family; even the little ones. La Casa has always and will always continue to be the cream of the crop when it comes to true Authentic Mexican Food. Staff are always on the ball and smiles are always there! once inside you notice the many many decorative paintings and pictures all around you that really gives La Casa thier edge and really gives La Casa its style! I have always had a blast coming to La Casa and bringing my family, great place for children to come and eat as there kid menu can't compare to most others! Of course the HOT green chile is always a must and always tastes so fresh! Any plate you get at La Casa is awesome and other restaurants cannot compare! When you get passed the parking, this is THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD!! Our server was attentive, quick and the food came fresh! The hot chili has the perfect blend of hot, but not too hot.
