Best mexican in Dallas! 3/4/2010

This place is amazing! I went for lunch and loved the atmosphere and then also went with friends and got margaritas! This place is conveniently located in the heart of Lakewood and 5 min from Uptown Dallas. Not only is this fresh Mexican food but they have amazing seafood dishes as well! Pros: ceviche, drinks and ATMOSPHERE! more

great mexican! 1/13/2010

la calle doce is one of my favorite restaurants and i make it a point to eat there whenever i'm in dallas! the margaritas are tasty and strong, and the micheladas are the best i've ever had! i always start with the fondue cancun, a creamy, cheesy, melt in your mouth concoction with bits of shrimp - but make sure you share it because it is a meal in itself! the ceviche is also delicious. the servers are very accommodating and the atmosphere feels a bit upscale and artsy while remaining comfortable and affordable. highly recommended for happy hour with friends, a fun family dinner, or a romantic date. Pros: awesome margaritas! more

Great Mexican Seafood!! 1/12/2010

My Favorite Mexican Restaurant!! It's newly remodeled and they did a great job with interior - an inviting bar, beautiful blue floors, more booths, and even a dining area on the second floor. The service was great, looked after us very well and the margaritas were delicious. We began with Ceviche and Quesadilla Suprema, which were fantastic and I had Salmon Tacos and those were great. They also have a brunch menu on the weekend that 's delicious with good deals on mimosas and Happy Hour every afternoon during the week. This is authentic Mexican Seafood! And the Tex Mex items they do have on the menu are good too! Highly recommended!! Pros: Ceviche, Tacos de Mahi Mahi, Shrimp Coctails, Happy Hour more

Very Bad Dinner! 2/6/2008

My experience at La Calle Doce was a huge let down. Our waiter got our drinks wrong to start. Margaritas were strong but that is probably to make you forget about the dreadful service, awful food and the lack of ambiance. Queso was a velveeta mixture...was hoping for something with a bit more flare. Enchiladas were run of the mill. A very basic strip mall mexican restaurant. I won't be going back when a fast food restaurant will give me the same quality including the attitude filled staff. Very unsatisfied! more

Horrible experience, don't waste your time 1/18/2008

We've had a few average dinners at La Calle Doce but after our last experience we will never dine there again. The front of house staff didn't greet us as we stood at the front entrance and then was sarcasticly rude when we asked if there was a wait. There were plenty of open tables and people waiting which tells me they don't know how to seat people and they don't know how to hire a reception staff...very annoying to wait for a table when i can see open tables in the dinning area. One of our dinners was incorrect and it took a very long time to get the right dinner out. It took just as long to get our check. Rude people, slow service and food not worth waiting for. Don't waste your time. Plenty of other great Mexican restaurants in Dallas. Pros: parking Cons: SLOW service, Rude to customers more

Nice for enchiladas 11/8/2007

We like to come here for lunch for a few reasons. First, not only do they have a special lunch menu, they also have daily specials on the board when you walk in, so be surenot to miss those. Service has always been very nice and attentive and the owner also makes sure the ship is running smoothly. Now, this is more of a Mex Mex spot, than Tex Mex (hello, seafood). I only say that because I advise against the queso. We suspect it's actually condensed canned soup with no cheese at all. I've also had enchiladas, tacos, and many other items on the menu(s) and loved those a lot. more

Maybe They Had An Off Night??? 1/28/2007

SKILLMAN LOCATION - We can't understand all the rave reviews on this place. Maybe we went on a bad night for them, but we were totally disappointed. The surroundings were cramped and a display cabinet with wooden doors kept coming open (all 3 doors) and menus crammed inside for storage kept falling out on the floor. Husband ended up sticking sugar packets in the doors to get them to stay shut and avoid someone being injured. Pros: The calamari was the only good thing about our experience. Cons: Cramped and worn out atmosphere, cold food and mediocre service more

Reminds me of Austin 11/2/2006

I love this place! I've only dined at La Calle Doce a few times, but everytime I've gone, I've had a great experience. The atmosphere reminds me of Austin and I'm an Austinite! Margarita's are strong and not too sweet! Great place! Pros: atmosphere Cons: parking more

Best Margarita & Ceviche 8/22/2006

If you like your margaritas made the real way and plenty strong, but don't want to pay a premium for them, this is the place to go! Fresh tasting with quality tequila and not for the weak, but still under $7. more

Best Place Ever! 6/3/2006

This restaurant has all you need to look for. Great Food, Specially their Tostadas de Ceviche along with their Home Style Made Lemonade! The Service is Great along with the atmosphere. It is both Romantic and Relaxable. If you go ask for a server named Jesus his great. You're going to love it!!! Pros: Food, Atmosphere more

Great food and atmosphere 5/11/2006

The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated for a Mexican restaurant. There are hardwood floors, one brick wall, photographs and beautiful Talavera pottery on the walls. I found it relaxing as well as warm and cozy. I loved the ceviche tostado and the Coctel de Camarone. more

!!Best Hispanic Food!! 2/24/2005

That is the bestest hispanic food ever. Especially their Lemonades, and drinks. Their food is out of this world couldn't ask for more. If there was a mind reader machine over the internet, there are not enough words to express myself with. more
