There are two dining rooms at Lake Street:, although the ""gourmet"" menu is available in both rooms. The ""bar side"" has a casual atmosphere with a very good light menu: sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, etc. The ""restaurant side"" has white linen table cloths and a quieter, more romantic, atmosphere. Both sides have charming atmospheres; however, the bar side can be louder when crowded, and can smell of cigarette smoke. As mentioned, the restuarant menu is available on the bar side, and includes such entrees as lamb, tenderloin, salmon and other searfood. There are nightly specials, but they always include the german potato soup (not sure why it is a special if always available!) and the seafood is always prepared the same way and served with saffron rice and a sauce. The menu finally was revised this past year, after the same entrees for several years. Wine Spectator has rated the restaurant due to its very diverse list. Ask the owner for a recommendation--you'll appreciate his knowledge. Lake Street also has a very good selection of wine by the glass. You will want reservations during the summer weekends, particularly when Road America races are in town as the place is a favorite for the race fans.
Pros: Wine--bottle and by the glass
Cons: Loud and smokey on the bar side, need reservations on summer weekends
