Best Hawaiian Joint on the Peninsula 10/7/2009

This L & L Hawaiian Barbecue in Linda Mar has the best service ever. The staff always says ""Aloha."" They're friendly and they have a good work ethic. The store's cleanliness is superb. The design is visually pleasing, especially with the decorations, posters, photographs, and artifacts on the walls. The food is always filling. The quality is top-notch. At Linda Mar, being at this L & L is the closest thing to being in Hawaii. Pros: Excellent service. Tasty Hawaiian food. Cons: Cash only, but they have an ATM. more

High Quality Food in Fast Food Setting 10/10/2007

I don't know too much about Hawaiian food but I know good food when I taste it, and this place has good food. The barbecue here is actually teryiaki and the meat is good quality meat. I was quite surprised at this because most fast food places have low-quality meat so that they can increase their margins.\r \r The cleanliness of the dining area and restroom is top notch. The service is great as well. They greet you with an Aloha and leave you with a Mahalo and they bring the food to your table.\r \r My friend ordered the smoked/pulled pork and katsu combination plate, and it looked delicious. He really enjoyed his plate and said that it tasted better than anything he had had in the Islands.\r \r After that experience, I did some research and tried other Hawaiian places in the Bay Area, and this place is by far the best Hawaiian place.\r \r Remember to bring cash because they don't accept credit card or atm, but they have an atm machine in the store. This place is worth the money and you won't leave hungry! Pros: Large Portions, Quality Food, Great Service, Cleanliness more

Best Overall Hawaiian Food Experience 9/26/2007

I've tried many hawaiian places in my life, on the mainland and in the islands, and i'd have to say that this is little hawaiian restaurant has the most tasty food with a consistency on quality and service. Not to mention the cleanliness. This place has tableside service and they cook all the items to order. I have to recommend the kailua pig. This pig is probably the closest I've tasted in the bay that even comes close to comparing to the islands. They also have Poke (ahi tuna sashimi) but you have to come early because they sell out really early. The fish is really fresh and dark red, and the blend of seasonings is delightful. They have healthier alternatives like garlic shrimp, which I've also had. The shrimp is perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. It is served with a scoop of brown rice and a green salad. If you want the closest taste of the islands, this little place in Pacifica is a little hidden gem of Aloha! Pros: Attentative Service, Plenty of Parking, Quality and Authenticity of the Food more

BEST HAWAIIAN FOOD IN THE BAY 6/12/2007

This Hawaiian restaurant is the best Hawaiian place I've been to in the bay area. There teriyaki meats are to die for. They aren't overly salty or sweet like some of the other places I've been to. The meat is perfectly cooked and moist every time. There Katsu is hands down the best Katsu in the bay and even in Hawai'i. There kalua pig is also in the same league as their katsu. It is up there with the best kalua pigs I've had in my lifetime. They cook all the fried stuff and grilled items to order so everything is fresh and piping hot. They also have desserts like Haupia (chilled coconut custard) and Malasadas (fried doughnuts covered in sugar) which they fry to order and it is to die for as well. Locals Pacifica people love this place and people from all over the bay come to this particular location because of the quality of the food and the service. The owners are almost always at the store and very helpful for the ""uninitiated"". The portions are HUGE, the food is great, and the prices are low for what you get. If you've tried this place, then you are probably already a regular, and if you haven't tried this place, then you're missing out. The only downside is that they are cash only , but they have an ATM inside the store that takes almost any card. Trust me, they are worth every penny and more. I will definitely be going to the L&L in Pacifica for a long time to come. They are located conveniently next to starbucks in the Linda Mar Shopping Center, right next to Linda Mar Beach. I love to go there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and after filling up on great Hawaiian food, take a nice stroll on the beach a few steps away. It's right off of Highway 1, so it's nice and convenient. Again, BEST HAWAIIAN FOOD IN THE BAY, and others will agree with me too. This is a hidden jem in Pacifica/Bay Area. Don't miss out on this place, cuz it's off the hook! Mahalo and Aloooooooooooooha L&L Pacifica. Pros: Service, Quality of Food, Huge Portions, Authenticity Cons: Cash Only more
