Best

this place is a little tucked away but check it out and make sure to grab some sake and beer and go for the sake bomb.

Worst

Had reservations and waited for 40 minutes to sit down. The hostesses were rude and not accomodating. Asked for the manger he could not care less and said we had only been there...

Great set-up. Everything felt so good and comfortable in there. The food is undeniably fresh and well prepared. The beef ramen had set a new standard for my taste. more

Times are changing 7/23/2010

I've been going to Kyoto Palace for years and have always loved the place. I used to get the all you can eat sushi. It was always around 22 bucks but at 11 bucks a roll it was a great bargain. I recently went and to my dismay they no longer have it and the rolls seem to be about 1 dollar more per roll. It seems as though everyone is tightening their belts these days with the way the economy is going. I guess if you want a nice dinner it's great! They have the chef prepare everything right there for you. I?ve had Jose the Asian guy on multiple occasions and he is pretty fun to watch. He does the whole Volcano thing as well as a cool egg trick. I really do still like the food but if you have a family or a date it can be a little spendy. I spent close to 40 bucks on 3 sushi rolls and wanted more but just could not justify the cost! Great place to go if you?re not on a budget! Pros: Very entertaining Cons: Always a long wait more

Poor Service-Over priced-average food 3/28/2010

Had reservations and waited for 40 minutes to sit down. The hostesses were rude and not accomodating. Asked for the manger he could not care less and said we had only been there for 10 minutes (his girls said that) Pros: food is ok Cons: rude/manager hostesses &very long wait (even with res) more

Entertaining and great food 5/1/2008

Great, family friendly restaurant -- an ideal place to go for birthday or special occasion. The staff is amazing and talented. I was just as amused as my son when watching them prepare the food for us w/ various knife tricks. more

Great Japanese Food Experience! 6/3/2005

I've only een to this place a couple of times, (it's on the pricey side) but I just love it. It is a Benihana style restaurant; they prepare your food on a grill right at your table. The chefs are just as much entertainer as cook. We had so much fun just watching them work! I had the best fried rice I have ever tasted at Kyoto Palace. I would have been happy to eat only that, but there was more to come! It was great! more

Beware of Flying Objects at the Teppan Table 4/14/2005

I went with my boyfriend for dinner and sat at the teppan table. All in all it was a fun experience as teppan cooking always is. I would recommend ordering the fried rice which costs a little extra, b/c the chef cooks it for you right at the table. The two complaints I had was that while the chef was "throwing" around his cooking utensils it flew out of his land and landed in my boyfriends' empty plate. Luckily it didn't hit the water. I guess it's the assumption of risk you take sitting at the teppan table. Second, I thought throwing the chicken pieces for you to catch in your mouth was gross, especially since I was caught off guard and it hit my clothes. The food was good although my steak wasn't really seasoned. Pros: Teppan, Dinner Specials Cons: Flying Objects, Too buttery, Hard parking at nite more
