terrible. run by the most currupt jihad sand bags ever. if you like getting ripped off, brainwashed and lied to, then come to any of kevin pishkar's wonderful establishments. iv know the family on a personal level for years... -heres what i know for a fact. -they tell you your parts come from the dealer but if watch closely youll see an unmarked autozone truck sneak around and hand the ""mechanic"" if you want to call him that, the crappiest low end part they could get theyre hands on. -the owners son and gm manager, ""kevin pishkar jr"" is always on drugs which i believe is on a couple other reviews and wrecks/smashes his vehicle weekly due to a zannex/heroine induced black-outs. -owners get employee's to fill up empty synthetic bottles with crappy bulk oil and sell it to you ""the customer"" for even more that what you would pay for real synthetic oil at the autopart store. ""i used to work here and they attempted to instruct me to do this"" -if you come here to get your vehicle inspected, this might not matter to you personally however the person inspecting your vehicle probably isnt a certified vehicle inspector. Again, i have personally watched the general manager ""Kevin Pishkar jr"" make photo copies of his inspection badge and hand it to his felon employees to do the work that he wont. coolant, and other fluids that your vehicle takes all are in blank giant barrels that are not what they are described to you as. if your vehicle takes ""dex-cool coolant"" you get the barrel with the ""most orangy stuff"" not to mention the used fluid container is right next to the ""good coolant?"" and i watch time after time again, old fluids of different types getting dumped into the new coolants by mistake. the new fluids of course go right where? right into your vehicle where you are then charged 3 times the cost of real fluid eleswhere. -they advertise they are ase certified when in reality, out of all theyre store, there are not even a hand full of ase certified techs. the odds of you getting a tech that is not fresh out of school and or jail is very slim. if you do get a guy that knows what he is doing, he is forced to used low quality parts and charge you more than dealer parts to fix your vehicle :) \r \r -""draped up and proxied out"" more

OIL CHANGES ONLY!! Took my SUV in for an inspection and was told it showed a code and needed an O2 sensor which they could install for $140.00. Took it to an exhaust specialist, the code was caused by a vapor lock and all I needed was a $5.00 gas cap. I will go here for oil changes but nothing more and after reading several other reviews may skip the oil changes here too. more

DON'T GO HERE - I wish I had read these reviews before I went to get my oil changed. I went in and told them I wanted a basic oil change, nothing else. They called and said I needed this and that... I said I just wanted the basic oil change (about $35). When I went to pick it up, they had done the ""super duper"" $100 oil change without asking me. They charged me for it anyways. I called back to the store manager and received NO help. I will never come back here and will make sure all of my friends and family know to stay away. more

One Word - Terrible 2/23/2012

My wife decided to get her oil changed at Kwik Kar since it is less than a mile from our house. She was conned into replacing her cabin air filter and was also told that she needed to get new brakes. She ended up paying 50 dollars for a filter which costs 10 dollars at AutoZone which didn't even need to be replaced. I also cannot figure out why they were checking the brakes when she went in for an oil change. I told her to decline the brake job because I know they are still in decent shape. The next day after, I noticed there was oil all over my garage. I checked the drain plug and they had stripped the drain pan threads completely. I took the car back in and told them about it. The manager told me that he wasn't there that day and didn't seem to care that he has lousy help. They did agree to fix the problem for free and I thought everything was going to turn out well. A few days later I noticed oil in my garage once again. I check the drain plug and I was able to rotate it a quarter turn. My lesson is learned don't use these idiots. If they can't get by without screwing up an oil change then think of what they could do with a major repair. I hope they didnt't touch anything else on my vehicle. more

I wish they had a -4 star option... This place is horrible 9/11/2011

First off everything looks good from the outside. The workers are relatively pleasant and professional. The place is very neat and clean. They give a pretty decent car wash. BUT they have no business working on cars. I went there to get my oli changed and about 2-3 days later my car started smoking. I took it to my regular mechanic and he said their were leaks everywhere due to cheap oil and then he showed me my oil filter which was never changed although I was charged for it Kwik Kar. He said there was no way they changed it the last time and they used the wrong type of oil for my truck. Please save your money and go someplace else!!! more

Bad Business -- Avoid these people 6/17/2011

We live in easy walking distance form this place, but will no longer have any of the 5 cars in our family go there. One went for state, and had brake light on so asked them to check it. They forgot, then told him it was a ""sealed system"" and they could not even check fluid level. (Low brake fluid was problem, resolved for free at other shop) Next daughter wanted oil change and wash on a Saturday afternoon. They called later and told her she needed brake fluid flush and fill and sold her injector cleaner service as well $129.99 for brake flush, half that for same at Meineke on Mason Rd. Her wash and oil change came to almost $300.00! NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE. more

Scam Artists! 3/23/2011

During my last oil change, mechanic told me that I needed brake pad replacement and that ""because my truck was complicated, there would be an extra charge"". They wanted $350 to replace 2 brake pads. I told them no. I then took the car to the dealership, who told me the brake job would only cost $199. Well - the dealer called me and hour later saying that my brakes were fine and they had plenty of life left on the pads. Don't go to these guys - they are all about the upsell and only want to do expensive work on your car that it doesn't need. more

Scammers and Completely Dishonest. 1/18/2010

A brake light appeared on my dash, my husband out of town, I went to Kwik Kar and the mechanic told me that I shouldn't drive my car, I needed to get it fixed right away. I was guaranteed a cheaper price than Mercedes. I got a lame call to say, it's $700 for the repair, then the sob story of it's Christmas so I can get it down to $600, maybe $500 but you might want to think about tipping him because he's saved me so much money. I asked if I needed to get another quote and again guaranteed it was the lowest price in town. Picked the car up and was asked again to give the guy a tip in an uncomfortable way. I left the place in my car and got home and Mercedes was $70 cheaper. Called the manager to report the mechanic and that my repair was more than Mercedes and was told he could do nothing. I reported the whole story to the owner who called once and left a message to say that he would call again and still awaiting.... I would recommend to women never to go to this place, the mechanic's are intimidating, dishonest and creepy. Guys, don't go either, they are rip off artists. I can't see them in business for much longer if this is the way they treat people. Cons: They look for vulnerable people to rip off. more

Go Elsewhere 8/21/2009

They will try to upsell you every time. You will then wait 45+ minutes for your ""free"" car wash. more

Do NOT trust these guys!!!!!!! 2/2/2009

Do not trust these guys!!! They tried to rip off my wife by recommending unneeded service repairs (ie. new brakes). They tried to pressure her into getting the work done, but she chose to get a second and third opinion. Good for her....both places said she did not need the repairs. Unethical businesses should not be rewarded with our business.....and Kwik Kar of Katy will not get anymore of my business or my friend's business. Cons: Dishonest more

Beware---Artists of Finding Things Wrong with your car.... 8/25/2008

I will not return to this facility. Each time I've been to this facility, they have recommended work that I knew was not needed, and i refused it. However, the last time takes the cake. I took my vehicle in for an inspection and oil change. They called me and indicated a belt was worn and that i should replace it. This is a vehicle that I normally leave stored, so I told them not to worry about it...well then when I go to pick it up, they said it failed inspection because of the belt, there was a risk to the power steering system and they failed it...now mind you, the steering was working fine. That's like saying your tail light might go out. Anyway, I paid to have a new belt, kicking myself all the way, because I was about to go out of town and needed the vehicle inspected. On top of this the wash job was pathetic, I asked them to run it through again, which their 'manager' first agreed to do, and then didn't. At any rate, I urge you to avoid this facility. Pros: Not too many....the facility itself is nice... Cons: Service, Make Work Attitude more

Just lost a customer, terrible service 7/22/2008

Last Sunday 7/20/2008 my wife went to get the oil changed in her truck and since this place has a car wash get the truck washed and detailed. She called and I went to meet her there and decided to get the oil changed in my truck which I use for work. Since I had some sheet metal parts in the bed of the truck I went to the counter and ask them to not wash my truck at this time. A mechanic came in and ask for me and said there was more work that needed to be done on my truck. The air filter needed to be changed( it was white as a piece of paper). My brake system needed to be flushed because of moisture in the lines, the power steering needed some work. At that point I stopped him letting him know I had a major tune up and service just 3000 miles ago at a dealership. That I knew that none of this was true. He argued with me and even tried the old PH paper test strip trick on me. I didn't buy it. I told him just top off the fluids and change the oil ONLY!!!. When I got the truck back something was not right. I have several magnetic signs on my truck for my company ,licensing etc... They were all taken off. The Sheet metal that was in the bed was now in my front seat along with the wadded up signs. They had no reason to go and do that. After my wife got home we found that a case of water that was in the bed of her truck was missing as was some bunge cords and a dog lead. They had also disconnected the XM radio.they also changed the radio stations. We found the XM radio and upon calling and asking for our stuff back. She was informed that they had all of it. I went to pick it up and was handed a bag with the dog lead and bunge cords. Asking about the water I was told they threw it out by accident. I was not ask if there was anything they could do to take care of any problems. I had been a long time customer, with this kind of service no more. There are too may other lube places that want my business. Price is not what I care about. Service is. Cons: Terrible service, Not being honest. more

Bad Kwik Kar experience 12/18/2007

Had my oil changed and they did not put the under car cover back on right. I started to work and it came off causing me to almost have a wreck. Took it back in next day and they tried to fix it with tie straps and not tell me. After I caught them they finally agreed to replace it which will be yet another trip to them. They missed up my car, and tried fixing it wrong. It is still not fixed right and I paid full price for all this. Merry Christmas and be careful having your car worked on here. Pros: nothing Cons: they are out to get you more

Most Unprofessional Service Every Expirenced 8/12/2007

I dropped my vehicle off on 11 Aug. 2007, a 2004 Dodge Ram. Requested a Radiator Flush, Oil Change, and Car Wash. 7 hours later I recevied a call that the vehicles radiator had a leak. I went to the location only to find coolant leaking from the radiator at an alarming rate. The personel on duty were very defensive, claimed that the vehicle was brought in with no coolant in the radiator. They were very unprofessional. At this same time there was another customer with similar problem. Cons: High Prices, Unauthorized Work Being Done and Charged. more
