Kurzweils Country Meats

Kurzweils' Country Meats is more than a restaurant, it's a full line meat market, anything from smoked brats to fresh cut steaks and everything in between. They have to die for, world famous smoked pork chops. Fully cooked, ready to warm up on the grill, or in the oven. Makes for a great easy meal. They also have a very impressive aray of smoked brats. If it can be made into a brat most likely Kurzweils has tried it. Some of the more popular kinds (Jalapeno Cheddar, Philly Cheese Steak, Applewurst, Smoked Brat, Bacon Cheeseburger, Mozzerella Sausage) just to name a few of their over 30 different kinds. They also have a wide variety of marinated chicken breast, (garlic butter being my favorite). On top of their meat products, their store is full of bbq sauces, seasonings, dutch foods, wines, cheeses, jellies, jams, soups, bread mixes, and dersert mixes. And I can not even start to describe the aroma that floods the doors when you walk in. more

This is your old country store type setting, but offers sandwiches during a very limited time frame (11:00 - 3:00, I believe.) Their menu consists of hot and cold sandwiches. The meats to all sandwiches are cut fresh daily as this is also a working deli. The location is excellent as it is on 7 Highway - the route many people take to Truman Lake and other Missouri Lakes. Back to the sandwiches - they are piled high with meat and are beyond excellent. I really recommend the hand-breaded tenderloin or the reuben sandwich. In addition to the sandwich you also get a generous portion of fries, or you can substitute onion rings or suzy-q's. The main business in this location is really a "meat" country store. You can get meats sliced to order. Everything from bacon to steaks. They also offer a wide variety of country-type canned goods. This is a must-see! more
