Coming from Los Angeles where sushi is remarkably good, I didn't really expect a small suburb in New Jersey to have such creative sushi or rolls.\r
We got to the restaurant on a Wednesday night and it wasn't crowded at all. So immediately I probably subconsciously started judging. There were only two of us and we got seated at a four-top which I liked. The waitress was very sweet and friendly. She made some recommendations. Following her recommendation, we ordered the tuna dumplings as an ""appetizer."" We also ordered 2 other rolls off the menu as well as miso soup. Being that there weren't many other patrons that night and many available servers, we received super friendly, speedy service which is always a plus in my book. I was surprised how tasty and aesthetically pleasing the tuna dumplings were - an avocado mixture wrapped in a skin of tuna topping with fish eggs. Each dumpling had a different type of fish egg which was fun in itself! There was also beautiful sauces that were so nicely draped across the plate. That was the highlight dish of the night. The two other rolls were good and the miso soup was good, but plain. One other high point that is apparently more of a norm in the restaurants of this area is that you can bring your own wine without corkage fee which is another plus. We did and it just added to the meal. Overall, a really good experience. I would definintely come back.
Pros: Food, service, value
