After having tried out other martial arts, I chose Kuk Sool Won because it is the most comprehensive, complete martial art around. I love the emotional, physical, and mental benefits I get from mastering the wide variety of kicks, punches, forms, techniques and weapons skills, and am proud to learn a system of Korean martial arts which has existed for generations.
Master Brewer teaches with patience, compassion, and tremendous inspiration to demonstrate how one's entire life can be transformed by being part of a martial art that requires one's full attention, dedication, focus, and commitment.
The traditional Korean class atmosphere is wonderfully conducive to helping students master self discipline and commitment to achieving goals. I'm very impressed with the improvements I have seen in children studying Kuk Sool Won in terms of increased confidence, self control, and self discipline. This family-friendly training builds character at the same time as it instills core character values such as integrity, honesty, and respect.
An extra perk of membership in this school is that it is much more than just another martial arts school... it's part of an honored international organization with consistent teaching in classes all around the world. Kuk Sool Won's grandmaster, In Hyuk Suh, spends time with students at the Berkeley and all other Kuk Sool Won schools, and at the northern California annual Kuk Sool Won tournaments. This means that students can regularly see world-class demonstrations of the very highest level Kuk Sool Won martial artists, as well as be part of a supportive global community.
This is definitely one of the best ways to get and stay in shape, sharpen your mind, improve your reflexes, burn off stress, make new friends, develop strength, increase flexibility, and master phenomenal self defense skills and weapons... highly recommended!
Pros: Parents & kids attend classes together
