PERRY TWP., Montgomery County — A 61-year-old Lewisburg man, arrested on charges accusing him of having sexual contact with at least two boys, was formally charged Friday, Sept. 3, and jailed in Montgomery County on $1 million bond.
Michael Windham was arrested Thursday night at his Preble County home on Cedarwood Drive while police searched his home and truck for evidence.
Greg Flannagan, spokesman for the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, said the office approved five counts of felony illegal use of a minor in nudity orientated material .
Perry Twp. Police Chief Bob Bowman said his department felt it necessary to press charges immediately and keep Windham in jail for his safety and the safety of his accusers.
“His residence has a large number of firearms,” Bowman said.
“If and when the court decides to release him, that’s going to be a stipulation, that the guns be removed.”
Friday, police search ed a cabin on the property of 13080 Providence Pike, where they believe Windham took nude photos of at least one juvenile .
A search warrant affidavit outlines numerous sex acts the two males, now 18, allege occurred over a five-year period at Windham’s home, cabin and Plainview Open Bible Church where Windham is a board member.
He also co-owns K’s Restaurant in Brookville , according to Detective Gerald Bowerman.
The affidavit also claims Windham paid the boys as much as $1,000 to engage in sex acts with him, and showed them pornography that included home movies of him and his wife having sex.
