Outstanding! 4/18/2010

Ben is a very intuitive massage therapist. He seems to know exactly where to massage me and how much. I think he has an excellent knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and that combined with his strong sensitive hands makes him exceptionally effective. more

Treat Yourself 8/29/2009

Ben is great, I highly recommend scheduling a massage regularly. I find that even when I didn't think I was tight/out of whack he finds crunchy spots and works out kinks every time. I look at it as a gift to myself and money well spent. Relaxing! more

Superb! 8/23/2009

It's a big health benefit for me to get a massage from Ben. He always asks what target areas I need attended to and then he works to make sure to address those areas. I have TMJ and his ability to relieve the stress on those muscles makes a big difference in my job performance. more

Outstanding! 8/4/2009

I have had work done by many massage therapists and Ben is among the very best. He has an excellent studio space and his hours are perfect for those who work during the day. Ben works carefully with you to tailor the massage to meet your needs. I highly recommend Ben to anyone seeking a quality therapeutic experience. more

My vote for BEST in the area 7/17/2009

Ben has a very quiet (no bustling "salon" noise) massage studio in his home. Since most of us work 9-5, his evening hours are especially appreciated. He easily targeted the problem areas (sciatic nerve, etc) and work them to a painfree state. He is sensitive to how much pressure a client wants and responds accordingly. I highly endorse Ben as a qualified and quality practitioner. more

  • Kratz Massage is a home-based massage business that has been in operation since February of 2008. My name is Ben Kratz; I own and operate Kratz Massage. An entire level is dedicated to the business so I can bring to you a truly complete massage experience. The layout is very conducive to a relaxing spa setting from the color on the walls, to the tile in the bathroom.

I trained at La' James International College in Iowa City, IA. I've been practicing for over 4 years and really enjoy working with people. I have five beautiful children whom I stay home with during the day and a wonderful wife who watches them as I practice massage.

Being able to actually help people feel better and live healthier lives is the reason I practice massage, and really the reason I started my own practice. There are lots of people with common and not so common aches and pains that think they just have to live with these constant nagging problems. Many people don't understand that there are simple little fixes for many of the physical ailments that plague them day to day. They feel they must be in pain when they don't have to be. It's incredible to see how much happier people are after they get off the table!

    Swedish Massage:

Swedish involves long connective strokes across the body. A lighter touch is used with Swedish and is aimed at stimulating the skin, superficial muscles and blood vessels to help you relax and unwind. If you don't really have any major aches or pains and you really just need to take some time out for a little rest and recuperation, then this is the massage for you. Relaxing Swedish is your "fall asleep" massage.

    Deep Tissue Massage:

Deep tissue uses pressure and leverage to release muscle tension and other soft tissue restrictions by direct interaction. Pressure is applied to the entire length of the muscle but there is focus on the belly or thickest part of the muscle as this is where more of the stress is stored. The heavier pressure applied allows the deeper tension in the muscle to be released which many times is the root of the problem. Deep tissue is your "I can move without pain again" massage.

    Trigger Point Therapy:

Trigger point therapy uses pressure that is applied to specific points of congestion on a muscle in order to alleviate the tension and dysfunction. Trigger point therapy is often used in tandem with deep tissue massage as a dynamic duo of sorts as they compliment each other nicely on the table. Trigger point therapy is your "I'm not being pulled by strings anymore" massage.

    Sports Massage:

Sports massage is used before, during, and/or after an athletic event in order to prepare athletes.
