A cozy dining room and a small bar area, with traditional hunting lodge decorations on the walls, first greet the visitor to Koliba. This restaurant specializes in Czech and Slovak dishes, and does not disappoint. Most of the meat dishes are well prepared in the traditional manner and typically come with a hearty selection of sides (dumplings, potatoes and vegetables). All dishes are well proportioned and are priced reasonably. There also is a good selection of Czech beers and liquors on hand.
Pros: Good traditional Czech food, nice beer selection, friendly waitstaff
Cons: In Astoria, but close to subway
